he's immuno-suppressed.
China is laughing at how we are tearing ourselves apart. We are creating 2 societies, the vacc'd on the one hand, and the unvacc'd/un-boostered on the other. The latter is losing their societal privileges.

And it seems like a pretty reasonable step for the RMH, to be honest. Probably a huge percentage of the kids in there are immuno-compromised. The parents need to make a choice and either get themselves vaxxed or STFU.
Regardless of vaccination status, you can spread Covid. Being vaccinated or not only helps to keep them from being more sick should they get infected. If they are vaccinated or not will not help to keep those children from getting Covid.
You let the kid stay and you limit visitors for everyone, if you want to require a negative test to visit I am good with that too. But kicking them out over this is not appropriate.
Yes, vaxxed people can still get covid...particularly Omicron. However, I have not seen anything showing that they are as likely to get it as an unvaxxed person. Also, the prior mutations are still out there and are probably even more deadly to the kids in RMH. Clearly, the vaccine has worked better against alpha and delta. The rule at RMH seems perfectly reasonable to me. Why should they have to police daily tests for a family that refuses to get vaxxed? If you want your kid to stay there, get vaxxed. It's very simple.
The vaccine does help to prevent transmission - at least standard COVID and delta strains certainly, probably less so for omicron, but still a likely benefit. The smallest cold can be life threatening to kids on chemoand their parents MUST stay infection free also.
My belief in people’s right to decide for themselves is still present, but they know what they are choosing. I feel sorry for the child and the concerned parents. The vaccine itself has risks for their child, but not as high as COVID, but it is still a horrible decision for them. But these are not the very low risk children most people are thinking about
In the standard debate.
protection against infections,” Pfizer CEO Bourla said. “But then two months later, what used to be very strong in hospitalization also went down. And I think this is what everybody’s worried about.”
CDC Director Rochelle Walensky: “Our vaccines are working exceptionally well … but what they can’t do anymore is prevent transmission.”
“Omicron, with its extraordinary, unprecedented degree of efficiency of transmissibility, will ultimately find just about everybody,” Dr. Anthony Fauci told J. Stephen Morrison, senior vice president of the Center for Strategic and International Studies. “Those who have been vaccinated … and boosted would get exposed. Some, maybe a lot of them, will get infected but will very likely, with some exceptions, do reasonably well in the sense of not having hospitalization and death.”
It's time to stop saying that the experimental vaccines help stop transmission, especially with regards to Omicron, which is the dominant strain.

We don't know the diagnosis of the child, the stage of the disease process, or whether the child is on chemotherapy now or in the past nor what chemotherapy was given. Thus, we don't know the immune status of the child and whether his/her body can even respond appropriately to the vaccine. We also don't know whether this child has risk factors to taking the vaccine in the first place which is far more common in these patients (those complications are also magnified in these delicate cases just as the effects of COVID is magnified). We don't know what the advice of this child's doctors were to the parents. It is quite possible that in this case, the risk of the vaccine is high enough compared to the limited/if any benefit that the parents are doing the smart thing. On the other hand, those things may not be present. We just don't know enough.
I would absolutely say though to those who condemn these parents as plague rats when they don't know these other critical pieces of information, that their ignorance is exceeded only by their hate. Conversely, Ronald McDonald Houses do the work that noone else does. It is absolutely wrong to condemn them either without knowing more.
now a rule that 5 year olds and up must get vaccinated.
Thus, RMH, in consultation with the authorities, established this policy. Seems to be without regard to patient medical conditions. Perhaps they will allow a medical exception but unclear. Nor would I be confident in it being granted.
I appreciate our healthy disagreements/discussions.

I may be misreading the article, but the issue seems to be that the parents themselves refuse to get the vaccine.
that you are correct.

It almost certainly will be. But I bet you don't post about it.
Let's see if I'm right.

Germans learned to hate the Jews just for being Jewish. The Left has learned to hate the unvaccinated/unboostered for who they are.

argument a bit.
And I'm absolutely right. Canada is now going to tax the unvaccinated, in addition to excluding them from society. All over a vaccination that doesn't stop the spread.

moron. You proved my point.
There is no penalty on the board because everyone agrees.
