Pretty soon every country on the planet except maybe the USA will prohibit this plane from flying in their airspace until the causes of these 2 crashes are determined and resolved. The several hundred planes now in service won’t be earning money and the thousands of booked and expected orders could be shaken.
Way too early to tell but I have to wonder if Boeing wiggling past the need to recertify a plane with so much changed from previous 737 iterations could be part of the problem.

the plane. New generation aircraft have too much computer automation and some pilots don't have a clue how to respond to emergencies. For instance, you need a minimum of 1500 flights hours to pilot a 737 in the US, the rest of the world 120 hours. Boeing will fix the computer issue and everything will return to normal. It's a great airplane, in fact the 737Max9 is even better.

In Asia - I trust only ANA, Cathay (Second Best), JAL and Singapore Airlines (Best and best looking Stews). The rest have maintenance and pilot issues.
In Latin America - Only LanChile, the rest, pray really hard.
In Africa - South African Airways, otherwise take a boat and walk.
In Europe - Most everyone, accept a few low coast carriers. Lufthansa, BA, Air France and Virgin (Best).
In the Middle East - Etihad (no one close, mile high club in first class, but only costs about $18,000), Emirates (Among the world's best)
In the US - Everyone is safe with the exception of Allegiant and Spirit (accident waiting to happen). Also don't fly on a ATR in bad weather.

Low cost airlines usually pay the lowest wages in the industry and can skirt some critical issues in maintaining aircraft. It would be liked trusting your brother-in-law to fix your transmission before you drove the car to Alaska. Ir might be fine but who knows. But unlike the car, the airplane just falls from the sky.
in the US would refuse to fly that airplane if there were issues. They have a strong union. That's not to say there isn't a problem with the autopilot and computerization of the aircraft. Seems from what I read, is that the sensors are giving false feedback to the autopilot on takeoffs. Now, with experience you wouldn't use the autopilot on takeoffs. That doesn't mean that Boeing shouldn't correct an obvious problem. I would board a 737Max8 today but only if I was flying in the US.

The News found at least five complaints about the Boeing model in a federal database where pilots can voluntarily report about aviation incidents without fear of repercussions.
The complaints are about the safety mechanism cited in preliminary reports for an October plane crash in Indonesia that killed 189.
The disclosures found by The News reference problems during Boeing 737 Max 8 flights with an autopilot system, and they all occurred while trying to gain altitude during takeoff -- many mentioned the plane turning nose down suddenly. While records show these flights occurred during October and November, the information about which airlines the pilots were flying for is redacted from the database.
Records show a captain who flies the Max 8 complained in November that it was "unconscionable" that the company and federal authorities allowed pilots to fly the planes without adequate training or fully disclosing information about how its systems were different from other planes.

Boeing announced overnight that the company would release a software update for its 737 Max planes “no later” than next month. The announcement, which was posted to Boeing’s website, calls the software release an “enhancement” and explains that it’s related to the October crash of Lion Air Flight 610 which killed 189 people. Sunday’s crash that killed 157 in Ethiopia is only mentioned in passing.

That was based on the previous crash. Not yet clear, of course, that the latest crash was same cause but you have to wonder between software/sensor bugs and pilot training what is really going on.
It goes something like this. Airbus is largely government controlled, and part of icky socialist Europe, while Boeing is part of the greatness that is US capitalism. The success and safety of Boeing vs. Airbus has always been a proxy battle for US-style capitalism vs. European-style "socialism".
Regardless of how many people Boeing murders, people who fight this culture war will never blame Boeing. I don't think anyone would find it shocking that Chad is one of these culture warriors.
