Perhaps, Marcus Freeman could join them with a letter of his own...would you "co-sign" it if he did?

or celebrities from other states. This is as stupid as "Emily's List" telling Sinema that they are no longer going to donate to her campaign unless she votes to change the filibuster.
West Virginian, he believes STRONGLY that Joe should join with the other Democrats in making sure that the Voting Rights Bill gets passed...as stated in the actual letter (see link).
Aside from Paul Tagliabue , all signatories have deep connections to West Virginia, so they have what I'll call "Standing" when it comes to speaking to the WV Senator...and they are using their 'Notoriety' to help advance what any citizen is entitled to do...voice their strongly held opinion on a matter of national importance.
Sorry it counters what you'd like to have happen, but then, you are entitled to find others of similar notoriety who believe that the new states' laws on voting are appropriate...good luck with that.

by many voters...like it or not, that counts...and since the issue they are talking about affects the entire country, I appreciate what they're doing...so there.

Maybe I’ll write to Nancy in San Francisco on what a hell hole it’s become should she be worried about my letter? Or maybe do the bidding of her constituents. You tell me.
letter expresses their strongly held opinion...nothing at all wrong with that...definitely will get Manchin's attention.

I still can't get that story of Cam Newton's Dad turning down $180K from MSU for him to go to Auburn out of my head...now tell me Alabama doesn't believe in such shameful behavior...but then, that's just "Business" in today's College Football, so forget what I said.
Back to the subject...being a coach and a player in 'heavily integrated' sports can give them deeper insights into what matters for African-Americans...I'm guessing it has...and they are communicating it.

I respect their accomplishments in certain arenas…but in this one…they might as well be two John Does …from WV apparently.
not exactly like TTTK on a message board...is it?
The internet and Tyrone. The two most fascinating things going right now.
Steve Harvey, Michael W Smith, Brad Paisley...who knew?!?
are WV Icons...their letter will have an impact on quite a few voters...Manchin may not move, but his future is getting murkier.
"There's three reasons why there's so little crime in Mayberry. There's Andy and there's me and baby makes three as he taps his holster. LOL.
Not following this super closely. But I'm fairly confident both Manchin and Sinema are secure enough in their positions to make the moves they're making. Manchin maybe the most secure.
Yours sounds more like wishful thinking.
wrt his future...he's not endearing himself to the Dem Party right now, and having been registered as Democrat for quite awhile, I'm not convinced he would be welcomed by the current GOP should he choose to switch sides...I think "murky" is an apt term.

No he's probably not endearing himself to the Dems. He seems really upset by that. And invites to Pub cocktail parties are likely not on the horizon. He doesn't seem particularly shaken by this either. WVa voters. I mean aside from a scathing letter from nick saban, seem to be a-okay with him.
He's giving your team the bird! And typically your team doesn't like being punched back.

This is overdue.
tremendous struggle to get the 1965 Voting Rights Act passed in my lifetime, and sadly, the recent echoes of 'Jim Crow' that we've seeing, tells me that those rights are being eroded and need these Bills passed...Saban and West understand this...are you standing with them...for the same reasons?

Full stop
Manchin could give damn about anything beyond staying a Senator.
Just like every other Senator.
Saban's and West's PR peoples put this out a virtue signaling gesture.
request...
btw...had no idea you were so 'tight' with their 'PR people'...or, was that just a 'supposition' on your part?
Oh, and there actually are Senators who work to improve the lives of Americans...unfortunately, only about half of the ones we currently have.

He even called for a North Carolina boycott which would have affected the regular guy's livelihoods. So what Saban and West has to say about anything outside of their sport has no merit. Did Jerry West address the NBA/King James support of slave labor in China? Maybe Saban might want to chime in on that topic since he has so much time on his hands.
go back and figure out what you were trying to say when you brought in Mohammed Ali to a COVID vaccine thread.
