Wonder why it’s so joyous for those events but not the 4th of July?

Tying political partisanship to the psychiatric profession, continued Blain, “has, in effect, administered a low blow to all who would work to advance the treatment and care of the mentally ill of America.”
APA’s formal response came in 1973 with the adoption of Section 7.3 in the Principles of Medical Ethics with Annotations Especially Applicable to Psychiatry, which became known as the Goldwater Rule.
The rule applies to public figures and states: “[I]t is unethical for a psychiatrist to offer a professional opinion unless he or she has conducted an examination and has been granted proper authorization for such a statement” (see sidebar).
The episode and the subsequent adoption of Section 7.3 appear to have dampened the enthusiasm of most APA members for a repeat performance, leaving psychiatric diagnosis to the media.

There are experts and then there are experts, and it doesn't get any more definitive than when a dozen psychiatrists agree on something. This is how science is done, kids. Straight up.
I also appreciate the customer reviews. I get the distinct impression that Peggy from Manhattan, Chadwick from Portland and ABNar from San Francisco, and the throngs of other readers attracted to this book, came to it as skeptics but were won over by the convincing diagnosis via the TV of Trump with the newly christened "Russo Ducha Amarillo Alabouthmo Orange Man Go Boom Dissociative Disorder."
Let's face it: we're practically dead unless you stupid people vote correctly in the next election.
There are darn few things in this world that wouldn't be improved if we would just listen and do what experts tell us to do. As a matter of fact, I recall that Chris once posted a similar link to a guy who wrote a book making this very argument. Coincidentally, he was an expert.
any sort of disorder. Their credibility irrational.
I have come to suspect that Chris’s belief that he can diagnose psychiatric disfunction without any formal training, or (dare I say) expertise, may be indicative of his own deep rooted delusional disorder. A grandiose belief that he doesn’t need to perform an extensive study (or even meet) the person he has confidently diagnosed with multiple disorders over the past two years.
Also interesting: Lefties have apparently been playing this “He’s Crazy!” card for at least the past 50+ years, hence the Goldwater Rule.
