But I do agree that he made the scourge of the Clintons possible.
Read his Medal of Honor citation or something about his 7 1/2 years in captivity. Not as humorous, but his life was a bit more than one VP debate.
the eye of the general public in a different way and, perhaps sadly, he became fodder for some SNL send-ups by Phil Hartman and Dana Carvey that were, unfortunately for him, quite humorous.
Perhaps unfair, but sometimes that's life..
I greatly respect Stockdale's commitment, service and sacrifice for this country...but this was thread about Perot.
I knew lots of people in the Navy who never forgave Perot and his people for under-preparing Stockdale for that debate, and letting him look like a fool. He remains a hero in Annapolis and Newport.
