This year's ratings are not available yet... or are being hidden... but the trend for the past few years has been abysmal. It seems like the average person does not connect with the politics of our media elites.

I haven't watched the channel in many months.
No idea what her topic or view was, or even who she was, just wasn't in the mood...

ESPN "media elites", I hope this is a joke. If it was the NYT, New Yorker, maybe, but ESPN. I hope your standards are a little higher than that. And not every failure or slide toward oblivion can be blamed on politics. I've watched it once or twice, saw some good ole boys on there who were anything but liberal or elite. It just wasn't a good show.
I for one, cannot stand award shows where very rich people are told how great they are. This is especially true of Oscars, Emmys, etc.
And look at ESPN. As a sports network, its primary audience is white, often working-class men who want to watch and talk about sports. But ESPN’s on-air talent seems determined to pretend that they’re on MSNBC, delivering “woke” lessons about politics to an audience that wants to hear sports news. Again, the on-air talent and the management are heavily invested in looking progressive to other folks in broadcasting. The audience? They’re an afterthought.

And none of us on the right want to watch it.
There IS a background support by the MSM and corporate liberals (Disney here) for this behavior.
All sorts of virtue signaling as well.
Who wait for the NWST lesbians to rip onTrump at the next ESPY?
Denying this fact while pretending that it is "just bad programming" that is causing the ratings drop is not credible.
ESPN's own research into this has told them what this poster has said.
The MSM now encompasses most forms of entertainment.
These shows are terrible, and the partisan nature of the speeches makes them worse. It doesn't matter if your left or right, they stink. I've commented on this in the past, even mentioning-I believe it was Di Nero's (sp?) at one of the awards shows where he lambasted Trump in a F bomb filled rant. It was bullshit which I pointed out.
It is also the type of thing that turns off moderates who associate these acceptance speeches with the dems. They are usually preaching to the choir and if you factor in that most of them are wealthy, it's double the harm. It's like conservatives who scream about govt. hand outs to the poor but see nothing wrong with corporate welfare, ridiculous expenditures by the military or libs who were all for busing, all the while sending their kids to private schools.
Pres: Romney. Might lose the PETA vote, but who cares.

I can only imagine what their foray into politics must look like, if they are actually doing it.
