We can criticize policy or issues - or in this case, stupid attempts to grab attention - without resorting to the inane "the other side does it too!" or "our side has a monopoly on righteousness!" or "this shows they are just scum, unlike us!"

Both sides have done it in various spots, but the Left has a monstrously longer list of hypocritical examples. So much so that you have to resort to this general dismissal of so many examples.
