Man, if there's one thing these goofballs didn't want, it was someone like AOC bringing attention to them and responding in an emotional way. Good job, AOC! You showed them!

Speaking of Canadians, where the F is Rooney?
Did Trudeau put him in jail?

What would possess one to spend their time that way?
I'm not a parade guy myself. I think of them like Halloween: Parades are for kids.
Unless they are a protest. Perhaps this was a protest.
Or, was it a Man Show on wheels?
The "Straight Lives Matter" sign would indicate it was a joke.

The St. Pat's parade passes my office, and my kid was in it for four years.
That's only a part of this though. Who would actually think it was useful way to spend the day to advance the pride of straight people? How could one's life be so emply?
Those pride parades are, for the most part, not ways to gain acceptance. They are essentially the same thing as the straight parade: a joke/fun day for the participants.
Perhaps you agree, and I missed your "What would possess one to spend their time that way?" post regarding gay pride parades and Irish pride parades.

Our brothers, sisters, mothers and fathers who are gay have been discriminated against, harassed, oppressed, put down, beaten up, ostracized, put in jail, placed in psych wards, put on medication, murdered by their neighbors, family, communities, gov't - local, state and federal. They've been forced to hide, lie about their lives for eons - Only in the last few decades have they been slowly accepted into their communities across this nation. Their parade may seem like flaunting and forcing this issue and it is to a degree, but what it also does is send a message to those who have been disenfranchised and who are unsure and still afraid (because they are being humiliated in their own communities) to come out to live their lives fully without fear, there are places they can be where they are fully accepted and have nothing to fear. If they want to have a parade, so be it.
And if you've actually seen one of their parades you wouldn't be so negative.
As for the Straight parade - Straight people are not being discriminated against, harassed, oppressed, put down, beaten up.... because of their sexuality. They think it's clever but It's a bullshit parade of fearmongering and hate.
So yeah, big difference.
They reek of insecurity, weakness, and the search for validation.
I guess that explains their popularity.

A hypocrites greatest defense is “whataboutism” - it grants them so much freedom.
Ever notice that the lefty-SJW-types struggle with memes?
"People at the counter-protest event featured signs with a range of messages for the Straight Pride marchers, including 'Oppressor cannot be oppressed,' 'A straight pride parade is called TRAFFIC, and 'love is love and straight pride is hate pride.'"
You go, girl!
