Also allowed to enter the campus freely. Odd way for an institution that, like so many, gave credence to the idea of epidemic levels of sexual violence directed against women on campuses.

And he argued that in the history of the species this was “normal.” Who knows what “orientations” we may decide are normal tomorrow? Of course our Supreme Court can straighten this out. Right?

Even the churches.
The only thing that kept our church, the United Methodist, from sanctioning gay marriage and gay pastors this past year was the African delegation. There was a delicious irony in listening to white libs threaten to break off after the vote because a bunch of black people apparently aren't sophisticated enough to get with the program (though the libs tried to blame it on southern conservatives within the church). As South Bend's own E. Michael Brooks says: "America: The Gay Disco." It's the height of enlightenment in secular America. Within twenty years, my church will probably have drag queen shows. Isn't that what Jesus preached?
Public education is a lost cause. With each new school year, a new crop of truer true believers enter the ranks.
75% of kids in African-American community now born out of wedlock. That wasn't the case 50 years ago; LBJ's war on poverty reversed our gains on poverty, and started to destroy urban communities. AA family culture (in urban areas, at least...I expect it is 90+% there, but probably identical % to whites in suburban and rural areas) is being destroyed. So, the Dems will have effectively destroyed any opposition within the black urban community soon.
There was a black minister on the radio the other day, talking about banning guns that have never been used in his community ("weapons of war like AK-47s"). The host asked him about violence in his neighborhoods, and mentioned how people used to have guns (as they do now) but they did not use them when they had disputes, and now they use them, and he asked whether the difference between then and now isn't really the availability of guns, but destruction of culture in those neighborhoods. The pastor talked vaguely abut how we have to, of course, restore the family and morality as well. He gave the impression that he has absolutely no idea how to do it. It is a major challenge. But the only way to do it is to remove the opioid of entitlements...perhaps I should coin a term: "methentitlements." But, it is really just getting them onto the government plantation, as Herman Cain said.

I myself have been quite critical of #MeToo, but I must say, lately it's seemed like more pedophiles and their apologists have been on the run.

It's a good thing overall, but people have to understand there is a spectrum of bad behavior. You can't treat the guy who told a bad joke on an elevator full of women as you treat a rapist or a pedophile. Louis CK lands somewhere in between those two extremes.
I've posted this article before.

referred to as "a quirky little man with white hair?"
Say, can anyone think of anyone who might match that description?

First, he’s an optimist. Second, he’s almost completely right.
For some reason, people hate to be told that the world is getting better.
I run into it all the time too.
That article pretty much exonerates Pinker for the Epstein shit, it seems to me. But he has enemies for some reason, so they love to make the connection.
This isn't about his philosophy and beliefs. There are some good reasons to believe he is the Harvard professor referenced in the statement from one of the alleged victims: "A quirky little man with wild, mad professor white hair."
The article exonerates him because Pinker himself claims to have hardly known the guy? By the way, that could be true, and he still could've paid Epstein Island a visit, once. It seemed a haven for awkward, strange men who ordinarily wouldn't get within paw's reach of hot women. Sounds like a description of a whole lot of dudes in your pursuit.
I'm sure many of the academics who chummed around with Epstein did it because they wanted him to give them or their departments money. I'm also sure that some were less interested in that and more interested in the young women who perpetually surrounded him. Epstein brought them along when he strolled into those campuses.
