I think the Dems have really screwed themselves. Just my opinion.
The continued investigations and seemingly unhinged behavior with all things Trump is doing them no favors. Only their hardcore base is encouraged by it. They should have stuck with the Russia investigation and Mueller report and continued to pound that (regardless of what people perceive was in the report). The fact that they have all but dropped the Russia collusion in favor of the issue du juor undermines the credibility of the original claim.
Instead, they have jumped from scandal to scandal and end up dropping each one after the news cycle tires of the story. The original complaint about Trump is weakened with each new issue that goes nowhere. Spoiler Alert: This latest scandal isn’t going anywhere either. Actual articles of impeachment would only compound their problems.
The Dems will go into 2020 having accomplished nothing from a legislative perspective and Trump will crucify them for it. They’ve squandered two years of congressional control and it looks bad. While they’re at it, they have likely screwed any chance Biden had of being elected. Warren is unelectable.
IMO, they should have spent the last three years making the case for themselves rather than making a case against Trump.

Pelosi is the smartest operator in DC.
She correctly gauged that the Mueller report lacked the smoking gun, and lacked crispness and clarity needed for impeachment.
Nancy knew Trump would find a way to impeach himself, compromising both national security and election interference in one swoop.
This will go to the Senate.
She may just be out smarting her own party.
The “inquiry” could just be another delay tactic.

Well penned. Exactly correct. “It has been “impeachment waiting for a reason”, and they have
closed their minds to any facts that undermine their desired narrative. They have also lost all credibility with previous false claims but they are painfully oblivious to their embarrassing behavior.
Legislatively, all that they can do is go after Trump because they have no ideas themselves that they want to openly admit to before the 2020 election because they know how unpopular their real agenda is with the public.
They will not work together on common themes because it would make Trump look good, so they screw the country to help themselves........for instance, no drug price fix.
The head of their committee, Adam Schiff, is so unhinged that he read an imaginary narrative yesterday of Trumps supposed actions....and this is supposed to be the even handed administrator of an investigation?!
The public sees and understands this all.

It's being reported that the R's and Trump have not set up a "war room" to deal with the impeachment
inquiry and the fall out from the WB's complaint. They believe this will all disappear or at least fall by the wayside as per usual with Trumps lies and actions.
Polls show the ground has shifted and continues to shift under Trumps feet.
Trump calling the WB a spy and should be executed is going to turn people who support him.
Then there's Giuliani who will more than likely give Trump's enemies more ammo.
Just for your info, the Ukraine investigator who investigated Hunter Biden allegation has stated there is no there, there, no impropriety no scandal.
Giuliani's allegations are false - just a manufactured tale for Trump Rubes.

The optics of the Biden’s aren’t bad - only the manufactured false allegations are bad and for all those who continue to traffic in these allegations they are the willing agents spreading deceit in American politics.
