If the punk didn't try to escape from the police, which happens so often in these cases, there would have been no problem.
Moral of the story:
If you comply, you don't die.
From the attached article...
Tom Nolan, a 27-year veteran of the Boston Police Department who’s now an associate professor of criminology and criminal justice at Merrimack College, said, “Certainly it’s not in compliance with standard police training and protocol to shoot at individuals who are fleeing the police. The police are not trained to do that unless there is a threat to an officer or innocent bystander or an imminent danger of serious bodily injury or death. Absent that there’s no justification.”
BTW, I have immense respect and appreciation for what our police forces do for us...at considerable risk to their own safety. I took the time not too long ago to email my thanks and praise to the Commander of a Highway Patrol officer who went 'above and beyond' to help my wife and I in a tough situation.

and 'admonition' to all others who choose to flee a traffic stop.
the first thing that should be emphasized is DON'T RESIST the police! Things go south real fast when you do. It happens again and again. If Duante Wright didn't break loose from the black cop who was trying to cuff him, nothing would have happened.

His initial post is disgraceful.
Made sure she knew her hands were to be visible at all times, no sudden movements, ask permission to reach into glove compartment and always be respectful. Lots of "yes sirs or ma'ams". It's not really that hard.
It's was last year when all the shit was kicking off. More of out of curiosity. "Hey little dude, what happens if..." kid passed with flying colors. I'm not too worried about him when the time comes.
At no time did "fuck you motherfucking pig! I know my mother fucking rights. Gimme my phone imma record this shit up in here! No I won't get outta the car!" ever come out of his mouth.

The cop not knowing the difference between the taser and her duty weapon though is an inexcusable mistake.
... to do with what actually happened.
what occurred in the incident. She intended to tase him after he resisted the arrest and got back in the vehicle to flee. She announced her intention. It was all textbook and proper until she made that leetle error. Not that any of this matters which is the problem with peeps like BLM.

I think this was an accident. I don't know enough about the equipment an officer carries and why it's positioned where it is on their belts. Obviously, this officer panicked and pulled the wrong weapon. It's a bad situation all around but it wasn't because he was black. It's better she resigned but not sure why the Chief went with her. Was it his fault, no, she shot him but when does accountability come into play. Why resist the arrest and not just go with it?
If a trained police officer can make this kind of mistake...
If so, racist.
it's the officers fault. She said she could do job. But she couldn't.
what comes out of it. I

Tasers are on the other side of the body and a often bright yellow in color.
She had time to select the right weapon.
Accidental: happening by chance, unintentionally, or unexpectedly.
Negligent: failing to take proper care in doing something.
enough but it's the justice system we have.
