This is one great public servant in every possible respect. In this case, Trump and all of us are very fortunate to have her in this role. What's amusing is that she probably does not give a damn for public praise and instead only cares about being effective.

Birx and Fauci have been completely correct about how to handle the situation.
Now if they can keep the prez from his worst instincts.
NYC is the epicenter in the US and should get as much $ as it takes to save lives. But if he's just angling for a bigger piece of the pie, now is not the time. I have no clue on this. I hope he and the Administration can iron this out.

He can't have both ways, using others' money to make him look like a good governor in crisis. It will be unfair to other states. Don't forget as of now, 17 states issued extreme stay-at-home orders, but we have other 33 states that didn't issue stay-at-home order. Economic loss from stat-at-home states should not be transferred to other states that didn't have these extreme measures in form of Fed relief. Again, it will be unfair to other states.

I had to venture out this morning to get bread and milk. I went to the local mini-mart and made sure to get there when they were opening. No other customers in the store. I picked up my 2 items and was checking out when a soft drink delivery guy came in. While I was running my credit card he walked up to the counter about 6 inches from me and started chatting with the clerk. I controlled my urge to sneeze on him.

absence of a vaccine which may take 1 year to have (Magic does happen, but our policy can't reply on that magic).
The 60% number I got is from Chief scientific adviser of UK and that's for covid-19 only.
not herd immunity.
Ideally, things can be opened up gradually but it will be hard to hold back the floodwaters once there is even the tiniest of openings. The pressure to crank everything wide open will be immense. It'll be like the Sooner land rush of 1889.
The government needs to consider that private enterprise is going to be in a mad dash to get retail and businesses back up quickly. To keep the dam from breaking they should keep schools and public buildings closed longer to act as a bit of a drag on a full re-opening. Maybe restrict restaurants and theaters to 50% capacity for a bit too, but that's tough to police.
Obviously a complete unknown
your post that Obama and Bush supporters should be reassured that Trump makes similar talent evaluations.
It would appear that Trump has some of the best people in their fields leading the way here which is what a good and effective leader does.
