Over 3 million last week.
Key is generating an effective treatment for this pathogen so that people can return to work without fear of dying until the vaccine is ready.
Making health care manageable is the lynchpin.

the elderly and the vulnerable, not hospital. We don't have a cure on this virus now, how can hospital mainly, i.e. take a major role to save those 40% population?
Crawl back into your hole.
because the hospitals were overrun.
And there will be a vaccine.
doctors and researchers in this institution can prepare for the incoming COVID-19 epidemic. I have other stories if you want to listen. I suggest the posters on this board post the personal stories from what they learned from their relatives, friends, co-workers....
I thank God that I work in an industry that is considered essential. My company has not laid anyone off and I can still travel (I don't) if needed. Hopefully we get ahead of this virus soon and things start to turn.
- Clean out your closets. Take all the clothes you haven't worn in 6 months and donate them at the local charity.
- Go buy some new clothes, preferably at a local shop but wherever.
- Take your family and friends out for dinner to local restaurants every night for a week or two. Support the restaurants getting back on their feet. Tip your wait staff mightily.
- Take everyone to a movie or three. It doesn't matter what movie. Buy the big bucket of popcorn and 2L Coke.
- Use Uber or Lyft.
- Go buy a bunch of $10 gift cards to Starbucks or Dunkin Donuts (or Tim Horton's if you got 'em), go with your kids to the local Hospital and hand them out to anyone wearing scrubs. A small token of appreciation.
- Book a vacation, maybe a cruise.
Those that are fully employed during this downturn need to aggressively consume during the first few months of the recovery.

A good Canadian friend brings me a few pounds when we have our yearly meeting. I wish they would open one in Florida. Wawa has made it's way down here and they have good coffee too.

The virus has effected the world, not just this country.
You should be, too.

We scheduled a bathroom remodel that is due to start Monday. Our closet is cleaned out and 4 boxes of items have been donated to AMVETS. When I am not cooking meals (love my Traeger), we continue to order from local family restaurants. One local Mexican place is awesome and we are regulars, that hasn't changed.
We already have a cruise booked in December, hoping that still goes and we are constantly looking for others, even now. I love the idea about the gift cards for anyone in scrubs. Once I get back to traveling, Uber is usually used. We're not movie people but gift cards for movies will do the same.
I take nothing for granted and fully know I am extremely lucky for my company and job. I work with technicians that are still working 60 hours a week to keep people driving. Things have started to slow a little for them but they are still pretty busy.

We had this booked long before this hit. Had to wait until December so our college daughter could go. I have no problem going if it's cleared. Same as I will get back on flights to travel for work.

We don't get the WiFi package so our cell phones go in the safe and we don't touch them until we get off. Our kids have seen plenty of different places and cultures. Plus, the drink package is good option. It's a really good way to disconnect and have family time.
...and we had a deluxe suite with two bedrooms, living room, sitting room, shower and tub on the water, butler, concierge, etc. All the amenities, first choice of all activities. Still didn't thrill me.
There are a couple of cruises I might consider based on unique ability to see certain things, but still generally not a fan.
Know many who love it. All good.
That sounds like something easy to enjoy with a good drink package and checking out a handful of restaurants/bars onboard and a little time in the pool and then ocean-watching from a lounge chair.
After that, I'd be ready to venture out and physically do different things.
Yes what you describe is accurate however we saw a different show every night, three or four comedy shows, had the unlimited drink package, enjoyed a fully equipeed gym that was every bit as good as our local gym, a running track that circumvented an 1100 ft long ship, got to see a private island in the Bahamas, Nassau, Cozumel and Costa Maya.....on the excursions you could get as active or inactive as you wanted
Would do it again in a heartbeat....and there is no need for some fancy room......you literally sleep in the room, so why bother? We had a balcony and that is literally all we needed....
Literally saw people of all ages, all persuasions, and thankfully being the third week of January not too many little kids
