From what I see of NYC apartments it is almost impossible to stay 6' away from anyone all day.
Throw in the way some sloppy people live down there plus the brain dead millennials and generation z(I guess it is) and it turns into an incredibly difficult situation.
We are running a 3% death rate on confirmed cases.
Need to get it to 1%.

I was curious how many people could put the death toll to date into perspective versus other causes of death.
But since you brought up 9/11, that was another gross overreaction. Trillions of dollars spent and many more Americans died fighting the "War on Terror". And the reaction has also caused lasting results, don't you hate what it has done to air travel?
The aftermath of the response to this virus could send us into a depression. We don't know what the long term effects will be, but in the short term 10M people lost their job in the last 2 weeks (higher than the net unemployment during The Great Recession 2007-2009). And we don't even know if our protective measures are going to be effective or not. Are we going to cease life as we know it every time a new scary virus pops up? Or when this same virus comes back in another year?
How many lives could be saved if we banned alcohol, cheeseburgers, sex and reduced the speed limit to 25 MPH on highways? It's about saving lives Iggle! You want people to die?!?!
Why not leave it up to people to decide what risks they are willing to take? Anyone, at any time can isolate themselves from the outside world if they feel it's too risky to live their lives. My view: give people the choice, because a life without freedom is no life at all.
