Probably was a traditional conservative in my younger years. In my later years I recognize
that I have had more than my share of good fortune. I'd like more people to have the same good life I've had, hence today I am inclined to lean a little more Democrat than Republican (probably 60/40).

Modern conservatism in the U.S. goes back to 1964 and Goldwater.
Can’t give you an exact definition but I know most of the elements.
Smaller federal govt, more authority to the states, less debt, less spending, less taxes, individual liberty, strong military, free market, free trade, American exceptionalism, support for the post WWII western alliance, belief in liberal western democratic values and promotion of same. Socially, pro life and support traditional family as the basic unit of society.

I think this theory has been floated for some time by the far left since Feb. But to hear it from a (in my view) semi-far right conservative (definitely not a centrist which he likes to pose as) like Fromm does add weight to that thought or worry.
Remember, Bill Maher on his show has been floating the thought, should Trump lose reelection in November he will not leave office.

I don't think Frumm is suggesting a coup. What he is suggesting is that Trump is willing
to sacrifice lives to goose the economy in the 3rd quarter thus boosting his election possibilities in November.
