First Whitmer keeps the state on tight lock down except for the UAW workers in the worst hot spot of Detroit, and at the location of her summer home near Traverse City. She told people "If you're lucky enough to have a home in Northern Michigan, don't descend on the area from other high risk areas, and if you do, bring groceries with you and don't go out".
Now her husband asked to get his boat put in the water before the weekend from the marina where it was stored. The owner told him that it wasn't going to be possible given the lockdown and that there is a huge backlog.
Whitmer's husband then said, "Well, I'm the governors husband if that matters to you". Gretch and the mister were traveling from a high risk area to the TC, and they obviously planned to get out and about.
Rules for thee, but not for me.
By the way, the dam that broke in Midland was inspected by the Feds of the Trump admin, and MI was told that it didn't meet regulation standards and to fix it. In two years, Whitmer's people did not do it. Interesting how the msm has given her a pass on this.

On the Governor's husband, that shows a complete lack of awareness on his part. Telling people to stay home and then not following your own words is bad form all around. Shame on the Governor and him.
On the dam, it's a private dam not a public dam. The dam owners have been told since 1999 that the spillway needed repairs. It was only in the last couple of years that regulatory authority over the dam switched from the Feds to the State. So the Feds had almost 20 years to enforce the repair order, while Michigan had less than 2 years. The blame for this disaster sits entirely with the private owner not the State or the Feds.
......I do agree that it had other villains. The real reason that I mention it is because of the similarities the story has to the Flint water crisis story which the msm covered completely differently. There are administrative villains in the Flint case that only came to light because the media dig into it. No chance of that happening here.
If something is a big enough danger that the state finally buys the dam, but then the state only does minor improvements over the next 2 years before it bursts with the new governor......it’s worth a close look, but it won’t get it from the msm.
I assume '64 thinks she is fat.
problematic for 20 years and we shouldn't be blaming Whitmer since she has only been there 2. Is that anything like blaming Trump for all the issues we have when career politicians have been in Washington their whole lives and he has only been there for 3?

unemployment, foreign countries not helping as they should with NATO, China’s infiltration of NATO, dependence on foreign oil, etc., etc.
The thing is that Trump tends to fix the problems, so you don’t think about them as much. I don’t count COVID against his economy, in fact, it’s the only thing that could have survived it.
Trump got blamed for NAFTA? That's crazy.
But I just want you to remember that it was Tampa who turned a discussion about the Michigan governor into a discussion about Trump, not me.

problem left on his plate. Big ones. You also cherry picked one topic and ignored the others, but even so, you understood that Trump was criticized at every step of his accomplishments. You may recall that Pelosi sat on the trade deal in congress for as long as she possibly could to prevent his victory.
Trump inherited almost all of the problems he has been dealing with now, and he is criticized every moment of the day for all of them.
Tampa made the claim that Trump is being blamed for these issues. He's not, at least as near as I can tell but admittedly I don't follow the news like you guys, and if he is that's just crazy talk.
So the argument you're making is that he's being criticized for how he responds to these age-old issues. I'm not disagreeing with that. He is being criticized. Not universally, but a lot. I agree on that.

What's the issue and what is he being blamed for? The Federal government does stockpile ventilators and all sorts of emergency medical supplies. That's easily verified. Is someone blaming him for not stockpiling any? That seems a bit harsh. Who is doing that?
You know, back when nipple piercings was being talked about for a Presidential run.
Maybe he was trying to organize one of those.
He probably spends a lot of time on that boat.😂
It did not do the repairs.
