as of 5/22. Some numbers are shocking: in Minnesota 81% of all COVID-19 deaths are from nursing homes.

We have blinded ourselves to reality
California has had a total of 115,000 deaths this year but only ~4,000 from COVID 19.
Oh... and at least half of these COVID 19 deaths would have happened without the disease...
AND probably far more have died for lack of treatment for other medical problems
It's the same everywhere: https://www.indexmundi.com/clocks/indicator/deaths/united-states
58% of the deaths are not from assisted living.

who were not in assisted living facilities just a drop in the stats bucket where that number should be discarded as an also fact.
This article and the righty brain trust here are all too excited to point out how insignificant lives are when thrust into a stat pile.
And lo this country should never have been on lockdown. “See the numbers?”
2.0% of all nursing home residents have died. Meanwhile, for those not living in a nursing home, that percentage is 0.02%

have missed the point of the deaths - meaningless numbers when confronted with the likes of you all. But do point out in the most dismissing tone how those numbers don’t back the economic destruction this virus has caused.
You struggle with context, so this is a lost cause.
the US Econ seeing such a small % have died and that the non-assisted living deaths are minuscule by comparison and though you see that as context, the real context is the deaths which are the premium. The lockdown even as delayed as it has likely prohibited several hundred thousands more deaths.
You toss real context out with the bath water in lieu of a generalized breakdown - out of context - stats.
You continue to do this here in your “binary” perspective when the numbers are in constant flux as if you have found the magic formula to show us all how wrong we are in battling this pandemic.
the remarkable statistic here. Or, sorry, an even more remarkable statistic.
Backed into a corner, you change the subject and use obscure language in an attempt to confuse the opposition.
Just admit your original statement was either stupid or poorly worded (I'll give you an out).
Also, most people don't expect that shutdowns will reduce the casualty count, only spread it out over a longer period of time, ya know, flatten the curve?

declining.
Approximately 10% of deaths so far this year are attributed to Covid. Draw your own conclusions.
But, 42% of deaths coming from 0.6% of the population is a much more remarkable stat than 58% of the deaths coming from 99.4% of the population. I don't know how how many times you were dropped on your head as an infant, but I'd wager it is a statistical outlier.
