remain in the air - aerosol - in poorly ventilated spaces for and extended period of time - minutes, an hour or even longer
This is what we were told early on then we were told the droplets quickly fall to the ground and don't reach more than a few feet,
Now that the spread is accelerating the thought is, in stagnant air - restaurants, bars, elevators, gyms, and so on indoors
are creating super-spreader zones with the droplets floating around.
Wearing Masks in social settings or where there are others (despite the vast medical knowledge imparted here on UHND by our experts) is a real and effective
tool in combating the spread along with social distancing + wash your hands, don't touch your face.
Who knew that would remain true?
And with all the HDChor... available, I'm sure it won't matter to those who don't wear masks.
Staying airborne is one thing, but it may not be able to do so in large enough numbers to infect people.
If it can stay in the air and spread to people after 16 hours....we are in trouble.
whiplash effect and a quick move sends it farther and more dangerous. I am skeptical about it being as potent after a long time and flying around. You would think gravity would work and more exposure to the environment would kill its half life somewhat. Jeez lets get that vaccine.
and that means, if there's enough of it in the air in a closed poorly ventilated place, you're going to contract the virus - this were the initial thoughts but
then abandoned to, the droplets fall fairly quickly to the floor in an indoor setting so just be careful.
and if we are really at 10% infected (~30M so far) and we need to get to 80% for herd immunity.. then this is going to be a bitch for quite some time
Here is medical bureaucrat Dr Fauci just before the epidemic became politicized.
You are unqualified to speak on this, and your reflex posts of every CNN propaganda segment is unnecessary.
You are as unscientific as the antivaxers.

That would likely be called, discovery. But then, your knowledge and investigation has been far superior to that of the CDC's.
already a known quantity.
The first video when Fauci was not under duress represents the real fauci understanding of the matter.
I'd be a little careful calling people listening to scientists "anti-vaxxers" were I you.
All sane people welcome any treatments that work. The science - and the virus - don't give a shit about our politics.

You personally want a good outcome. Most certainly though, “everybody” does not.
They went out of their way to paint it as dangerous snake oil that has no business being prescribed to COVID patients. They misrepresented every possible angle and quote to attempt to discredit it -- both in the media and in political leftists -- and as a result, we as a country didn't get on the train of early-stage diagnosis prescription like many other countries did.
It was shameful, disgraceful behavior.
If you think the "media and the left" is not - like all AMericans - hungering for a cure, then your partisan blinders are preventing you from seeing your country.
The media pushed the narrative -- hard -- that this was some dangerous drug with no benefit. It was Trump pills. Snake Oil. And we have paid a price for it.
The actual studies have been covered intensely.
You see everything in terms of the pro and anti Trump framework. Just take a step back.
And the media and many governors went out of their way to stop it from being prescribed to patients who would have benefitted. It was sick.

The best advice continues to be: if you're vulnerable, stay home. If you have symptoms, get tested and isolate.

And you say you're in the medical care field - which I sincerely doubt.

as researchers learn more... and it should.
It is not easy to follow the changing advice:
- Stay in.. no wait get out in the fresh air Vit D
- No need to wear a mask... no wait, wear a mask
- It is spread by non-symptomatic... or maybe not, might just be sick super-spreaders?
... and I am not blaming anyone. We will get better advice as the medical community learns more and I will have a hard time with anyone telling we know definitively what the answer is for some time. Your last thoughts are a logical approach without perfect data.
- wash your hands
- be respectful of distance
- limit indoor activities with large groups
- wear a mask (although not sure this protects you as much as protects others if you are sick?... again this story has evolved)
and if you are personally vulnerable, protect yourself. Do not rely on the population to adopt measures to protect you or your loved ones ...
Stay safe
of letting politics make the judgement, drive the narrative for political purposes, eg; trump not wearing a mask etal.
The politics has been the biggest cause in the fluctuation of information to misinformation. Had Trump wanted
to get this country on the right track, he would have supported the CDC's findings and worn a mask, talked about
social distancing, gotten the nation to buy into the shutdown as an important step in combating the virus. Instead,
he chose the opposite ergo, Republican Governors and politicians all got behind him to help confuse the flow
of information. And this cannot be ignored. I'm willing to blame someone for this pandemic getting out of control
when the opportunity was there to do so.
And no, there is no limiting indoor activities with large groups - there should be NO indoor activities with large groups.
It's not a just do it every once in awhile, it's Never until the pandemic is over however that is determined. And this is the
perfect misinformation that's out there. This kind of false information is why Houston, Miami and other cities are now
in trouble.
perhaps it is just definitions, but I'm not sure I'm on large groups
No football events - yep, even outdoors seems a risk
No concerts - with you
No church services/ weddings - I'm not there yet... we better have better data before I agree with that "until the pandemic is over" or perhaps my definition of large is different than yours
No college classes over x students - I think we need to consider how to manage risk before we shut them down...
No high schools? again, I hope consideration can be given on how to manage before a blanket NO
