Right now only 10% of registered voters participate in the primaries and these tend to be the most extremely radical elements of the parties. This may be why our Congress people seem so far apart in key issues on which we need to compromise. They are all catering to the radical members of their base. If instead the primaries involved the vast majority of us who want reasonably negotiated legislation we might see bipartisan legislation. I seriously doubt that Trump ever would have even been nominated if we’d had mail in primaries

Law and order and a sound economic plan that was succeeding, prior to Covid, are what is sought by the general public. The mail in votes are exactly what fits the lazy and irresponsible voters. I am not saying they are all lazy and irresponsible, but the responsible people who work show up to vote. The only way the irresponsible and lazy vote show up to vote is if they feel they are getting something for free. Mail in voting is essentially free from responsibility and therefore appeals to the lazy.

Why not use the existing Absentee Ballot system for mail in? Answer.......

And thus you see the real goal of the Left - mailing out ballots from simple our dates lists, with no verification at signature is a way to bypass voter ID laws in all 50 states at once. Then, whomever is ready to take advantage of the cheating opportunities has the upper hand.
At present, there is already a means to vote without going to the ballot box. But, it isn’t easy to cheat with it.
Utah, Hawaii, Oregon, Washington & Colorado vote exclusively by mail, largely without incident.

the mail-in ballot system sends ballots out indiscriminately whether requested or not. they go to dead people, pets, illegals, and are subject to incredible fraud. anyone can confiscate and fill them out without any form of identification. and they can be duplicated. stupid idea.

you prove my point. mail-in ballots are sent out indiscriminately by local organizations to everybody and every thing that has ever lived in an area. anybody can grab them, fill them in, and return them without any proof whatsoever that they are legal to vote or the intended recipient.

No, silly - you must request a ballot to be sent to you. Once requested, it gets sent to you.
Mail in ballot is the same as absentee ballot - you must request one - they are not sent to you indiscriminately.

Now, with a pandemic, we see Trump and disingenuous posters on this Board, use the fear mongering cover of “voter fraud” as ammunition to destroy and discount mail in votes, submitted properly by voters consistent with the instructions and protocols of their respective states’ election boards.
There is plenty of reason to believe that the GOP will do everything possible to strip voters of their most scared franchise.

We are talking about Americans casting their ballots by mail consistent with the instructions of their states’ elections board protocol, and those ballots not being counted.
That is quite different than Russian operatives interfering with the process and the tally.
