Ok, so you can weaponize the IRS, keep a private server, delete evidence in response to a subpoena, sell the DoS to your foundation donors, make your crack-head son rich while VP, illegally leak the Flynn-Kisylak call, use a dossier sourced from two suspected Russian spies against the opposition candidate to obtain a FISA warrant without disclosing the same to the court, and not face prosecution.
No wonder they feel totally fine leaking private tax returns to the NYTimes.
Sessions and Barr are failures for never getting on top of this - for never prosecuting obvious crimes. Whatever happens now is too late.

The reason they were released is because they were embarrassing to Trump, who had stupendous, gigantic losses on terrible investments in the late 80's. Nobody with half a clue should be surprised that he is still able to write off those titanic losses against income.
Naturally, Trump (really, his ego) didn't want the world to know that he is STILL writing those titanic losses off against income.
Much like Obama didn't want the world to know that he obviously was admitted to Columbia and Harvard Law because of Affirmative Action. That's why he never released his college transcripts. Columbia and Harvard proved to be better consiglieres than the IRS did.
