Dems want to gut the capitalist system and remake America as a socialist/dependent state.
Enough libs. Face your fear. Accept the vaccine. End the shut down and quarantine the "at risk" people rather than the "low risk people" as we have done in every previous epidemic in our history.
Understand that your cure is worse than the illness and you know it - it just happens to accomplish your otherwise unattainable political goals.

The debate is all about how much regulation and repair is warranted for the all-too-familiar "collateral damages" wrought by Capitalism. There will always be a debate on this because our population represents a spectrum of conservatives and liberals...this is totally natural. Accusing one side of the spectrum of something that isn't true doesn't help us achieve progress.
Now, as far as the pandemic is concerned, since it is impossible to know exactly who all the 'at risk' people are, nor assure that every one of them will be inoculated, the path you recommend ends very quickly. Your admonition to get vaccinated is correct, but until we have verification that 70%+ of the population is vaccinated, along with robust testing/contact tracing in place, we'll need 'controls' on activities.
other other guy, How about 64% of Democrats think socialism is the better system?
options, while Reps wouldn't touch them with a ten foot pole. In an earlier thread I referenced a quote from Elizabeth Warren, who most conservatives would easily classify as a 'Socialist'...I'll post it here (from an interview with Franklin Foer)...
Franklin Foer: All the investment bankers who have voodoo dolls of you might be a bit surprised that you recently described yourself as “capitalist to the bone.” What did you mean?
Elizabeth Warren: I believe in markets and the benefits they can produce when they work. Markets with rules can produce enormous value. So much of the work I have done—the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, my hearing-aid bill—are about making markets work for people, not making markets work for a handful of companies that scrape all the value off to themselves. I believe in competition.
I believe that all the folks you list are cut from the same cloth...they differ only in the degree and manner of "re-dress" for the improprieties of Capitalism...of which there are many...none of them has any interest in "killing the goose".

Let's hear what you have to say Mr. Wizard

Matthew 19:21 - Jesus answered, “If you want to be perfect, go, sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.”
We will start with the easy explanation... three escalating commands in this powerful verse.
1) Sell your possessions - how are you doing on this? Still have your home? Car? How about that cellphone and monthly bill? TV? Internet? Laptop? If you have already dropped all of those, I can keep asking, but I will assume the answer is yes to all.
2) Give to the poor - how about here? That bank account still have sufficient amount for retirement? Slimmed down those monthly "optional" expenses just so you can help others out a little more? Heck, do you even tithe regularly? How about that over and above gift to the church, beyond the 10%?
3) Follow me - now we are getting a little touchy - full-time ministry now? How about a few mission trips this year? Even gone down to the local rescue mission or soup kitchen and volunteered your time in Jesus' name?
Pretty tough verse to follow? Yeah, I would say it is. If you have taken care of all the above, I applaud you. Awesome job... actually I envy you. Unfortunately, if you do, you are missing the "biblical" mark elsewhere... seems to be many references we can cherry-pick out that talk about pride and being boastful. But hey, nobody can be perfect except Jesus, so don't beat yourself up too much.
Now, just to make it a little more real, help me find where the Bible tells us to funnel all of those funds through the government for distribution. Yeah, you won't find it, you can quit trying. The church is called to do those things, not the government. Is the church failing? Oh, heck yeah... but that doesn't mean you can cherry-pick out a scripture, take it out of context, and say that is why you are socialist. What Matthew is talking about it being a sold-out Christian for Jesus, not a government structure to overcome the shortcoming of Christians.
Of course I haven't done all three in absolute certitude. I have done my best in time and treasure.
Cherry picking is a Christian art form. Some Christians love the old testament. I doubt anyone other that Christ could be a true Christian. But he was a socialist.
EDIT: I don't believe it is bosting to quote a biblical passage,
It is a passage of mere tolerance, not positive command.
That is, tolerance of taxes and secular authority, not an endorsement of taxes and secular authority.
I don't think it was a positive command to go forth and not only pay a lot of taxes, but also raise taxes on your fellow brethren.
True charity benefits the souls of the giver and the receiver. Socialism uses power of the state to distribute wealth in a way that benefits the soul of no one...the "giver" is actually taken from, and the "receiver" gets an entitlement with no one to thank. Socialism destroys charity, and therefore the opportunity to benefit the soul.
And, I think it is important to note that Jesus didn't become incarnate and sacrifice himself on the cross to make sure that everyone's wealth was equal in status. (Indeed, he said, "You will always have the poor.") If he had come to help the poor as a primary goal, I daresay he would have been speaking more directly to governments and leaders rather than to the poor and outcasts. Helping the poor through charity is a means to an end, not an end in and of itself. The "end" or goal is to move people closer to God. Charity does that; socialism does not.

“So give back to Caesar what is Caesar’s, and to God what is God’s.”
Try again... Isn't it ironic that the Pharisees' were trying to trip Jesus up when they were asking Him if he should pay the taxes to Caesar? Paying your taxes to the government doesn't relieve your responsibility to give to the church for ministering to those in need.
via the government.
you in a way you can understand. Also you never answered the question. Weak ass deflection. Not surprising from you.
