Why wouldn't trump enlist the national guard to move the distribution to warp speed?
the amount out is not as critical as getting it out at this point. Plus all of Trump's, Moderna's Pfizer's and others vaccine work is still about 3 and a half years ahead of anything before.

The public health authority of the states derive from the police powers granted by their constitutions and reserved to them by the 10th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. The basis for the federal governments’ authority to prescribe a quarantine and other health measures is based on the Commerce Clause, which gives Congress exclusive authority to regulate interstate and foreign commerce.
I can easily imagine the governors screaming like crazy if the Feds tried to take over local distribution of the vaccines.

This is a national issue and requires national leadership.
In Michigan we've shutdown the whole state because the COVID stats are horrific in our inner cities... while barely an issue in the burbs and outstate. It's kinda like the gun issue. We know who's the real problem but we'd rather pretend we are doing something by restricting those who are no problem.
Good luck with that.
You're wrong about the "horrific stats" only in our inner cities. I live in Michigan too and hospitals are stretched thin in rural communities.
It's not like the vaccine was a surprise.
I know we are all stunned by the lack of federal leadership here. Stunned!
playing golf.
Lots of finger pointing, but looks to me like several States received a lot more doses than they have thus far administered. Maybe let some of these Governors accept part of the blame?

It’s easy to say to the scientists, I will throw as much money as you need to develop a vaccine as fast as you can, and then essentially get out of their way. It’s a lot harder to ensure a smooth and efficient rollout. The fact that our Orange Lord is entirely incapable of managing the latter isn’t surprising. Nor is it surprising that he will try to blame others for his failure.
Of course the govs share some blame. When you have 50, there are bound to be dolts and rubes. All the more reason why strong leadership and direction is needed at the top. Instead we have abdication and blame.
Our CinC has been AWOL since the election.
Apparently, Uhura is a super-spreader.
True story.
