Odd coincidence, that one, seeing as how it's where our Congresshumans spend their time. For the life of me, I can't figure how there is institutional racism in every police unit except for that one. Then again, with folks like Pelosi in closer proximity and thus keeping a better eye on them, I guess it stands to reason that they've been cured,
They failed in two ways:
They were profoundly unprepared for a riot. They should have been able to block the rioters at the doors with no blood shed.
Then they let the rioters get in the building and endangered the members of Congress. They should have prevented the entrance. Probably warning shots would have done it. If not, then they needed to shoot some rioters.
There will be a major investigation. So your post is stupid.
Except for the House and Senate committees charged with oversight of the Capital Police Force.
The conspiracy thinkers on the left may say they were trying to protect white rioters.
I don’t think so, but again it was shocking. I met their now former chief at a convention down there and was impressed with him.
is clear on this: the more problematic and biased the police department, the less we should fund it. I eagerly await these calls to defund the Capitol Police.
To investigate what happened. Th last few worked out so well so what more wasted money. We can get Lindsey Graham to write some means letter and Jerry Nadler to get on stage and shit himself again. And best of all, get lectured by Adam Schiff in bullshit “crimes against Democracy”.
These people who run our country are all fucking worthless. Rich off their cushy jobs and absolutely worthless.

population and they are all mentally ill, you can’t have your life run by the actions of the mentally ill, corporate media is programming these sick folks and social media is amplifying the derangement.

......and we have complete unity among Americans, but, the Dems, RINOS, and all the other lefties won't let it go. They keep poking and poking until things get even worse.

Please stop with the nonsense. Mr. Magoo gave a speech claiming that had this been BLM cultists, the reaction would've been entirely different, trying his best to foment even more racial divisions. What do you think of that? Was that smart? Was that in any way effective? Now Pelosi' working the same magic and extending it further.
Many predicted this sort of counter-response would inevitably happen, given how the Summer Madness "protesters" were indulged and with Trump stoking his own fires. It's entirely relevant to compare the two and to point out the blatant hypocrisy of the fools wringing their hands over this lawlessness, but who were largely silent, and sometimes encouraging, of lawlessness last year.
I’m focusing on what happened at the Capitol building, not last summer, or how BLM was treated or not treated.
The fact that “Mr. Magoo” may be of the same mind as your “patriots” doesn’t change this.
They are irredeemable.
It’s like trying to reason with anti-vaxxers.
He has some legit points. The treatment of the summer riots was pretty gentle by the left when it looked like the nation was possibly faced with mass insurrection. Got no issue with that being called out and said it at the time.
Where the argument falls off a cliff is that this riot was incited and invited by one sick man in the Oval. There is nothing comparable to that over the summer. He was actually happy that they breached the building by all accounts. I don’t think Joey the B was happy over the BLM violence.
well - (I'm talking the destructive element which showed up later in the evening) - also the dumbass slogan of "defund the police" was and is a
really stupid chant. However, I support the BLM's original protesting on abuse by law enforcement and lack of equality in the justice system.
This attack on the Capitol by the "Fecalists" was another thing altogether. Much of what happened on Jan.6th had been auditioned in Michigan's capitol
and in Portland. There were on harsh terms for the gun-toting militia then and these guys stoked by Trump, his cronies and allies for the last 6 months
were sure this was the right thing to do where there would be no real consequences for their actions.
Trump and the rest need to sit behind bars for an extended period of time - and no special golf outings either.
Some of their stated goals I agree with.
Some of their antics like the “pigs in a blanket” march disgusted me and put good cops in danger. I saw a bunch in Pittsburgh this Fall, and they were vile. If my wife and kid weren’t with me I would have said something to them and prolly got arrested.
They remind me of the trumpies in that violence doesn’t lie far below their veneer of respectability.
for me the original message of equality vs inequality was the right message - what went wrong with them besides the groups of BLM not coming together with a solid single message or platform
the messaging became knee-jerk ideologies, exploitations of laws, exploitations of their commitments to civil unrest. Really just groups with scattershot messaging -
They lost me a long time ago - however I do support their claims on racial injustices as accurate and the need, our need to address them in a big and formal way.
I will say that some of their more normal followers have promoted decent reforms. We worked with some of those locally with the new community policing initiative.
The biggest issue that I see with them as a group is that many, not all want to be part of the problem and aren’t that interested in viable solutions or compromise. The entire situation in a way reminds me of Northern Ireland. The only way to solve this is for both sides to realize they are going to have to work with some folks that they don’t like or agree with. In fact they may hate their guts. It takes a leap of faith and some real goodwill and exhaustion which I don’t see out there at this time. More of the culture wars await, I’m sorry to say.

That's irrelevant and no comparisons should be made? C'mon, man. You've also been complaining of Trump stoking the fire, yet when I point out to you a speech Biden just made, which you can easily find, where he does the same, your response is, "Well, Biden doesn't speak for me!" Yet you freely assign Trump's motives and behaviors to his supporters. You need to get your story straight and reorganize your thinking. Had BLM invaded the building and done this, are you telling me the Left wouldn't have brought up Trumpers assaulting cops outside the same building months before? Again, c'mon man.
What has the Orange DOJ done to prosecute them?
Point to me where Biden invited a riot at the Capital and I’ll say the same thing.
It’s also stupid to compare treatment of rioters based on race. If Biden said that, I don’t agree.
All of this pales in comparison to what Orange did, and is being used to deflect attention from his seditious behavior.
They certainly didn't.
I also think you've gotten to know me well enough to acknowledge that I'm consistent on these matters, from Cliven Bundy and the Oregon thugs, to BLM/Antifa thugs, to these thugs. and I'll also tell you when any politician is doing something stupid or harmful. I've been critical of Trump on a number of things and his post-election behavior has been especially destructive.
