rummaging' around the Web, looking for the latest COVID news. Given that it's the beginning of the month, I went to see if there was a new segment of the "UCSF Grand Rounds" video on YouTube...well, it's not up yet, but I found another recent episode entitled "Rebuilding What We've Lost in COVID: A Perspective from the ICU", and it deals primarily with those patients who don't end up as death statistics, but nonetheless suffer significant on-going "deficits"...very good information and insights, delivered by someone I consider to be a remarkable physician...Dr. Wes Ely.
What struck me were his insights into "Lessons Learned" from treating COVID patients and acknowledging things that were done wrong (not with malicious intent) and need to be changed...and his passion for ICU Docs to always see the "Whole Person" and not just lab test results...
Hopefully, others find this informative and valuable...comments welcome...

We need similar insight into the damage we did to society as a whole with the draconian politically driven lockdowns.
this, so almost every element in our social structure has lessons to be learned...including the use of "Lockdowns", mitigations, mandates, etc., etc, So long as we all carry the 'spirit' of Dr. Wes Ely, I think we'll find ways to admit mistakes and be much better prepared for any new challenges.
somewhat out of touch with the wider world.
This is not criticism and I have nothing but respect for what they do.
I've have had a few orthopedic procedures these past few years as ancient athletic injuries have cause joint degenerations and lots of time to observe the scene.
I love these people and the caring services they provide.
But they live in their own worlds... perhaps like our police and military.
It limits their overall perspective.
