There are bills in place or in the process of flying through our deeply conservative state legislatures that will likely make the following automatically follow the June/July decision to overturn Roe:
- Statewide ban on the procedure;
- criminalization of both the practitioner and the woman;
- criminalization of crossing state line for the purposes of abortion;
- de facto deputization of all citizens, Texas-style, to watch for any of violations. Bounties for catching violators.
There are also proposed bills to arrest uber drivers who help drive a woman to another state to have an abortion and the possibility of swearing out warrants for people who have had or performed abortions in other states. The last one seems too crazy to me to pass.
But the idea that every hick in this state is going to be on the lookout for abortion trips sure is comforting, ain't it? Never mind that the nearest clinic will be more than 700 miles away.
Every red state is going to do this.
And then, of course, the national ban - and similar national laws - will come when the GOP gains control of the congress & white house.
And then? IUDs, IVFs, plan B (of course!) and all sorts of other great things!
This ruling is going to upend this country. Hope you zygote lovers are happy.

Apparently, I'm from either Joplin, Missouri or Redding, California...
Who knew?
Maybe he thinks Midwesterners sound like Cajuns when they say "crawdad."
Now I occasionally throw a crayfish imitating pattern fly fishing on a creek. And I didn't even switch states. Whatever it's called they are good to eat if cooked properly and are also excellent bait.
I also assume, even in the reddest of red states that most people wouldn't support what you describe.

Don’t let anyone else’s life get in the way of your convenience.
Do you suppose that your complaints against abortifacient bans will make more headway with the Right than their pleas to stop killing term babies does with you?

Too much inbreeding in red states.

Infanticide by normal people

As someone who was once a devout Catholic... I get it... and I do understand how a believer would want a total ban.
Personally, I'm comfortable with early term abortions.
No one is evil in this conflict... both sides have good will.
Life is complex.
