Regarding the sanctions, they have been progressively more significant in the weeks after the invasion thanks to Zelensky’s pleas and political pressure……it was absolutely key that the EU (and esp Germany) finally jumped on board wrt the alternative oil sources. But one has to wonder if the West as a whole had shown this resolve sooner, would Putin have dared to invade?
