In that order.
Just checking.

As per, John Adams, only the brightest and the most resourceful should follow in the law.
I guess things have changed over the years.
We can’t eliminate homicide.
But we can decrease the number of our children killed in school.
If you don’t think that is a worthwhile goal, then we have nothing further to discuss.
I also happen to think that if the ARs go away, murder by poison, or bombings, etc will go up.
Media needs to stop sensationalizing they killings and we need to improve counseling and mental health services in schools, not to mention student/teacher ratios.

Oak Park, IL tried to ban handguns and they got their asses handed to them by the Supreme Court. Unfortunately I paid for the defense of that lawsuit. Anyway, attacking the guns themselves seems like a loser so they’d need to go after it in a different way. Tax the ammo & use proceeds for mental health and increased school services.

capacity magazines and the ammunition they use does improve the safety of a nation's citizens...see link.
People...and sadly, too many kids...are dying simply because some gun owners want the "Pleasure" of shooting Assault Weapons...this is not a rational tradeoff...bans on certain weapons, plus restrictions on ownership are sensible measures that have been shown to save lives...so enjoy your many other weapons that don't kill others so efficiently...it won't kill you to do without a few extra thrills.
To not take such actions is incredibly selfish and insensitive to all the current and future victims as well as their grieving families.

ownership of weapons are sensible." what ever! I know its wrong but i will abide by the law.
had there been no assault style weapons?
Should know that stat
while studying at school with other violent events in America. But yeah, if there were tougher regulations on guns across this nation, how many lives could saved?
Probably thousands and thousands over a short period of years.
tragedy occurs and then start pontificating. All lives matter equally, don't you agree? Dem run cities allow rampant killing unchecked, mostly by illegal guns, and never a word from you or yr fellow abortionists on this sickening scenario

But I don't think we can, unfortunately. All of John lots data is self-reported cases, so I don't trust his numbers.

Doesn't specify assault style weapons, but ARs and the like are in the rifle category.
How many more shoppers would have been killed had he just used his hands?

In no particular order. Notice who's not on their guilty list. All their expertise on the AR/ammo comes courtesy of NPR and Wikipedia. Their strength are the exhausting links that proves they are right. Jackson Sparks. These dopes could care less who this is.
Minus an AR and they go after that gun next. Crazy is always going to find a way to kill. Sooner or later all guns will be gone except for the ones the criminals carry. None of them have to answer how we get the guns out of their hands. These Libs love punishing law abiding citizens.

But you can reduce mass shootings by starving the 20 million AR-style weapons of the ammunition they need to kill quickly and efficiently.
And the part that is considered "the gun", the lower receiver remains the same, no background checks or anything required to go from a 5.56 to a 9MM or something else with more availability. And then you have the whole AR-10 rabbit hole... These are some of the technical reasons it isn't as easy as you and Tyrone think.
Look, if it was as easy as you seem to think and without a host of easily foreseeable and unforeseeable consequences, I'd be all for it. I don't think the general public should have access to these weapons and especially not deranged 18 year olds. Unfortunately, it isn't that simple.
And although ammo can be converted easily by some people, it wouldn’t be easy for 18-year-olds.
Ban high-capacity magazines. Ban lots of ammo.
Change the target from guns to ammunition.
And it's super easy, comes as a kit and requires almost no expertise or special tools. You can go on YouTube and watch a 5 min video.
If you want to start somewhere, start at my proposals below in response to Tyrone.
any weapon for that matter. They will start with the AR and then just move on down to the next weapon they see as a threat. I'm not sure how you stop a madman from getting these weapons legally. From the sound of it, this kid pass background checks. I like your idea of an age limit but crazy is going to kill no matter the age or weapon they try to eliminate.
that have come out on recent mass shootings, most could have and should have been prevented. The writing was all over the wall. But since they weren’t stopped and errors made and deaths occurred, the millions of law abiding citizens will end up paying the price due to a few crazy assholes. Again, we need to examine why these events are suddenly happening more frequently as opposed to blaming the gun. I can remember when people had rifles hanging up on the wall on gun racks in their homes/pickup trucks during the 70’ and 80’s as most households had guns. Nobody was running around shooting up places/people. The real solution should be to study what has changed in society that has led to more mass shootings. I have my theories but professionals should look into it as opposed to going after a sporting rifle that has existed since the 1960’s.
You can’t stop all shootings. You can’t save every kid.
But we can take steps to reduce the violence.
Same guns, right? Criminals can get there hands on them but you want to punish refusal every day people and not let them have it? That sound about right?

Maybe less efficiently, but not by as significant an amount as some seem to think.
The need to reload would give opportunities to escape and/or rush him.
And it would have rendered the Vegas shooting impossible.
about fire arms to have a legitimate conversation. Doing away with 223 ammo would deprive hundred K's hunters of necessary ammo.Do away with 9mm ammo and watch
the fatality rate drop tremendously. You good with that?

It would have required one of those teachers to have decided "This is my moment in history to make a difference," - - - and die! Then the other teacher would have to realize that the rifle required reloading and rushed him before he could reload and kill her, assuming that she did not try to herd over the children like a mother hen in a vain or futile effort to protect them.
As is oft times said "No plan survives first contact with the enemy."
