The Republicans have a cable television network whose sole raison d’être is to attack Democrats and promote pro-GOP talking points. The conservative media dwarfs the progressive media in size and scope. And even then, it’s an apples-to-oranges comparison. The bulk of the media on the right is an adjunct of the party apparatus; during the Trump presidency it was state-adjacent propaganda—Pravda, but with plausible deniability.
Much of the media on the left is focused on holding Democrats accountable and/or moving the party’s agenda in a more progressive direction. This is, of course, an admirable and necessary task, but it doesn’t do much to help Democratic candidates and causes win the messaging battle against Republicans come election time.
Facebook, the biggest, most important media outlet in the world, aggressively promotes conservative content. Democrats are out-gunned. We have fewer outlets with less reach. What we say is being drowned out. Sure, we need a better message, but first we need to get a bigger megaphone.
and express opinions through publication without fear of government censorship. This is called freedom of press.
If you really care about media, you should target the issue of the line between freedom of the press and libel, instead target certain media which you don't like. Our libel and slander laws may need to reform. Because there are no right or wrong opinions, but there are wrong reported facts on which the opinions are based. Media has responsibility for the facts they reported. Their opinions, well, are just their opinions.

His position is conservative media is an arm of the RNC, Republican party. There is no separation from what you hear from those entities in conservative media. I content that includes TV and the Internet.
the Democrats further to the left are actually its own "alternative media" sources. This would be sources like TYT, David Pakman, Kyle Kulinski, Thom Hartmann, Democracy Now, and so on. They go after "neoliberal" Dems in the same way that alternative right sources go after "RINOs."
Pfeiffer''s point is meaningless.
Fox gives its audience what makes them happy and does not offenc them.
People who watch cable news have minds that are unchangeable regarding their votes.
Maybe a point on Facebook and you'd have to throw Twitter in that bucket as well, but the sense I get is that people follow their own kind there as well.
Fox is pro Pub, no question. Beyond that there is no right wing media. The conservative media in no way dwarfs progressive media. That's just nonsensical.
Media on the left is in no way focused on holding the left accountable. Quite the opposite. They're more concerned about playing favorites and when their hand is forced (the hunter Biden laptop) blame bogey men. Or Trump.
Talk radio does not exist, I guess.
Outta the faculty lounge Chris. Spending too much time in there with Hunter. Lot folks under 90 listen to AM fucking radio?
Nobody reads Bill O’Reilly’s books or watches the Danesh D’Souza movies or is glued to OANN. And there simply is no conservative social media.
You’re right.
D'Souza and OAN are not mainstream. In spite of your frothing. But good job.
CNN, NBC ABC MSNBC all major networks. Every late night talk show host. Disney. Everyone in Hollywood. Every comedian. All major purveyors of all things left and Democratic Party. Hands down.
To claim that right wing media, such as it is, is on par with anything the left puts out is looney tunes.

I know as a left wing college prof you believe you're infallible. Outside of Fox News it's not near as robust as the lefts. Fox. That's about it. That's your right wing media. You're picking gnat shit outta pepper.

The Okie State football team was ready to go on full rebellion because their HC was wearing an old tattered OAN shirt on a fishing trip. Let's see now. The left has NPR, NBC, CBS, ABC, ESPN, MSNBC, CNN, most of the print media led by the Amazon Post and NYT. The left has the music industry, the motive industry, the TV industry, all the awards shows, the late night talk shows, SNL, Howard Stern, elementary, high school, college education, the Catholic Church, black pastors, the unions, corporations, MLB, NBA, NFL, NHL, soccer, pickleball, WNBA, college sports, sports talk radio, and they currently control the WH, House of Reps, and the Senate. That's a lot of messaging that can get out there. If it isn't, that means the brand and their messaging is bad.
