is a sexually transmitted disease circulating almost exclusively among gay men? Isn't shutting down to flatten the curve, as we were told 2 years ago, a "necessary" approach when the virus is spreading?
Political correctness is the most fatal virus. Hypocrisy is a byproduct of liberal democracy.

for your use in the 'Understanding Phase' ;-).
As mentioned previously, MP is very much like Smallpox, except less deadly...it can leave permanent scars since the disease, if serious, will attack all the way through the skin's dermis...not pretty. Right now, it is estimated to have a transmissibility factor (R0) of around 2-3...(versus Measles with R0=12+).
Investigations are continuing...stay tuned, but no need to 'freak out' at this point in time.

that was not the primary advisory on Monkeypox by the CDC (see link)...
Enjoy the giggles...then, if you truly want to know all about Monkeypox, read the linked CDC advisory...as well as appended links in it...and other Google sites...and...etc., etc.

But don't believe your lying eyes Tyrone.
of the discourse over a small, but important, segment of the public that needs to be alerted and advised...i.e. there's an awful lot more folks that need to be attended to (e.g. Straights), than those who aren't (e.g. LBGTQ+)...
Bottom line...you'd rather stoke Culture War stereotypes, than provide helpful information...it is what it is.
People who feel the need to have sex with monkey pox are an important segment of the population?
How about if you have lesions avoid contact with others, don't go to sex clubs, don't have sex with people without lesions and take a few weeks off of fetish play?
You think it's 100% men's responsibility to prevent women from getting pregnant but for gay men with monkey pox the responsibility (to not expose others) goes away? Amazing!
Also, I am not involved in any culture wars.
Like Van Jones said the other day, you people are weird.
assessing and treating HIV patients...most of whom are from the LGBTQ community...that is indeed an important segment of society from the perspective of the HC community...therefore, a special section of the CDC Advisory on Monkeypox is focused on them and their lifestyle (like it or not)...and they provide very relevant information to those people, not unlike what you were proposing.
However, as the attached link points out...the disease can infect anyone...i.e. the other 95% of the population...because of that, you should be focused on that group's well-being, rather than insinuating that the disease only affected LGBTQ people (see link comments)...hopefully, that wasn't your intent.
Your 'pregnancy' comment is unintelligible...I have no idea what you're trying to communicate.
Drawing attention to the LGBTQ community exclusively and not discussing the much larger larger potential of Monkeypox to the other 95% of the population does feed a "Culture War", whether you intended it or not.
The "Weirdness" that Van Jones was referring to involved IMO his view that some people "Overplay" a fundamental issue (Racism) to the point of distraction...in this case, your post "Overplayed" the LGBTQ aspect to the point of distraction from a threat to all people...but again, that's just my opinion.

It should be: quarantine, don't have sex, rather than 'have sex with your clothes on'.
And if you have to tell someone to clean their fetish gear, well...
But this once again proves, you will defend anything.
