This is exemplified possibly more in their losses than victories. 3 losses. 3 very winnable games. They played to their strengths in each game and did not get overwhelmed by being beaten on the boards. Not to mention these losses were against 2 very viable final 4 teams, both on the road (essentially Villanova was an away game for the Irish.) And a probable sweet 16 team in Purdue.
i am sure ND will lose a couple more, but if they keep this up, no reason 14-4 in league and a 2 or 3 seed in March is not very attainable and at this point expected.
The lack of optimism at this stage in the season from some of you is astonishing. Kelly is not on the sidelines. Brey is. He will have ND in every game this year behind truly gutty players, who are not only clutch and fearless, but they can shoot. Not many college teams have this many shooters and this many tough minded, smart ball players.
GO IRISH! pound the cuse!
9, if we can get Ryan going. It's really great to see.
That's really the only hump left for this team to overcome. Three very competitive games against Villanova, Purdue and Florida State, but they need to start winning them.

They are almost like a mid-major in the fact they don't have a lot of size, but they have lineups that can give teams fits because they can all shoot with range. If they don't turn it over 20 times against FSU, that's another road win. They aren't dominant, but I don't see this team going into a deep funk.
It makes you wonder sometimes if lesser talent is more beneficial than superior in terms of the system. Case in point is MF vs DJ. Farrell never stops moving and the team is in a much better rhythm than previous years. Everyone's level of play has increased except for Ryan and VJ. Those two need to step up if we expect to go deep in the tourney.
I am impressed by Brey this year but will never be a fan. His off court behavior has not sat well with some domers over the years. It is what it is. I wonder how much help the new assistants have been to him. RH and Ayers seem to be a nice fit.
This is the first I am hearing of any "off court" behavior issues regarding Brey. I am always under the impression that Brey is very congenial and well liked by most who come in contact with him.

Think Chris Zorich and Ruth Chris.
It is the second time you have brought this up...then weaseled out without stating the specifics...pretty sleazy.

Ever wonder why Brey's wife has never been seen at a game. Do you think maybe they would show her once in the 17 or 18 years he has been coaching there. Brey has also was a regular at Ruth&Chris in Mishawaka and had his share of lady friends. That whole marriage is a sham. I do not care personally but the blowhards on here need to get off what a great guy he is.
Troll that idiot.
No one has ever seen his returns, am I right?
I carry no brief for Brey, but he's done a fine job for ND. He certainly doesn't deserve this kind of garbage on an ND board.
If you can't do better than this, you should peddle your bullshit elsewhere. In my opinion, you're a troll.

Everyone has issues. I have heard a few things about him which aren't flattering, but it's his personal life. This does not change my opinion that he is a really great coach and really nice guy.
a few years back at a ND function where he spoke. There was a pre-meet n greet and Brey was extremely engaging, He told good stories and there was a spirited dialog with most of us; not just us listening to him.
Not sure about Brey's private life and really don't care to know. Long as he keeps under-promising and over-delivering re: ND hoops, I am good with him.
