Previously committed to Ohio St., but retracted after the coaching change. Sweet stroke and posts up a lot in high school. Brey said he was done with guards but I suspect this kid was too good to pass up and may be on the five-year plan.

Why do you think the 5 year plan? It would be great. We would just be getting our 2019 SG a year early. I think he is a better shooter than Carmody. Carmody seems like a better all around player because he is a sparkplug. They should be called fire and ice.
2 SG were not in the cards in my mind. Maybe Carmody can play some 2.
I know that Battin appears to be a backup plan but I hope they don't assume they can wait until Hauser and Shittu turn us down. Battin just strikes me as a perfect fit as a down low banger who screens and rebounds. I would have him on a 5 year plan.
I think Carmody will get minutes right away. Makes sense to put Goodwin on the five-year plan if that's the case.
Watching film of Ryan Young and Battin, they're very similar: good footwork, can shoot from the arc, can put it on the floor and can really pass. Battin is a little better off the dribble while Young is more athletic. I just wish one of them could be paired with a more athletic big in this class.
That raises a point for me. Gibbs and Hubb should dominate the 1 and 2 guard in 2018. Pfluegger, Djogo and Harvey should dominate the 3 wirh occassional 4 minutes, Burns, Mooney, Durham and I hope Battin dominate the minutes for the 4 and 5. For anybody coming in the 2018 year, Brey will have to expand the rotation to fit them in. The iron 8 is set. That is another reason I wanted Mahammad. Similar skills to Hubb but more length. We could have used a 2.
This could be a good get. With the last class of one, this is going to provide much needed depth.
