if they get two quality wins in the ACC

Try and win the NIT. People bash it but I've always enjoyed the home court format and then wrapping it up at MSG.

remember the NIT being played last year. Who won and who played?
a win over mediocre Virginia Tech will get them in the NCAAs. People are forgetting that even before Colson went down, the team wasn't playing well. A big part of this is that Brey had a couple recruiting classes that just weren't good enough. These are guys who would be fine with limited minutes coming off the bench, but are not guys who should be getting 20-30 minutes per game.
TCU won the NIT in Jamie Dixon's last year (bet Pitt wishes they could get him back) and have proceeded to have a nice season afterwards, as happens often with the NIT champ.
If I was running a program that had perennially been in the NCAAs and then had a single down year and had to choose between a first round loss in the NCAAs and a run to the Garden in the NIT, I might choose the latter. Bobby Knight once made that very argument.
reaction when they make it in versus when they don't, so give me the shot at the NCAA every time. When you are in the NIT you are competing for number 65 in the country.
and, that is eliminated.

Pitt is a good game for Colson to get minutes, and if they can open a lead, get rest for starters.
to our potential and everyone steps up.
