If Pitino Sr. is not a candidate, I would prefer to go with an up-and-coming mid-major coach who is hungry. That pretty much describes Pat Kelsey to a tee. I think Grant McCasland also fits that bill. If a P5 coach is on the radar, I'd prefer Chris Holtmann. Yeah, OSU is falling badly this season, but he's taken them to the Tournament all of his previous seasons in Columbus, as he did for Butler before this, taking them to the Sweet 16 his last season in Indianapolis. He's also a tremendous recruiter.
