That is a team being prepared. I don't think they believe they can win them all yet. Again, repeating myself, it is going to take time to wash all the Weis off this team. But BK is well on the way to getting the players to believe.
Sparty Sucks.

They made mistakes. Critical mistakes at critical times. Despite everything that went wrong, ND was in position to take control of the game in the 3rd quarter. And didn't.
That was the most disappointing thing to me.

And from a coach that has boasted that he has them all ready to play. Between their decisions and throws and his playcalling it was a shit show for 25 minutes.
Nothing and nobody is going to make Montana a good player. I can not understand, other than who his daddy is, why he got a scholarship. He sucked ass the entire 1st half and made 1 nice throw, though it was mostly a very good catch by the receiver, not all that great a throw. Rees may wind up being good, but being a true freshman, he has a long way to go. Don't know if it's Kelly's fault for not having him ready or just the fact he is a true freshman. One can only hope that after this, Kelly will work double time to get somebody, anybody, ready to go in case Crist is injured again. Just please let it be anyone but Montana. He has game experience so lack of experience is really not his problem, he just did not inherit his daddy's talent, that talent seemed to go all to his baby brother.

Time to kick it up a notch for himself and the rest of the team. Otherwise, we have another year at or near 500 and the guys are going to continue to feel that oh so familiar feeling of losing as taught well by Weis.
Go Irish!
Damn you, Logic!
But he didn't bullshit about schematics.
Kelly should have kicked that FG, but hey, not guts no glory. We were down 2 TD's and he may not have been sure Crist could play, he went for the play that would have put us within 1 score. He is human and will make judgment calls, just like the rest of us. Hopefully that is the last time we have to rely on our backup QB's to win a game.
I still think he needed the field goal going into the locker room at that point. With ruffer kicking, that is virtually guaranteed points. We needed that momentum shift to end the half. That could have changed the complexion of the entire second half.
Moving on. Let's kill Sparty. I'll be in East Lansing and would love to gloat over my father-in-law after a road win over his alma mater.
