already drunk the Kool-Aid. It usually happens in and around August.
When ND plays against itself and looks great! After that I fully expect to convince myself that a great season in the works.
I don't get the approach some take of just being negative 100% of the time in February. Now is exactly the time of year to convince ourselves that Kelly and Co can turn this around and get back to where we all thought this program was just a year ago.

That's not to knock guys like Sampson and Hanson that have great access since they've been around so long.
The fact that Coach D is relatively new to covering ND (but not to covering college football) is what gives him the unique ability to compare ND to other programs...not just to compare ND's current situation to its previous situations (which is the perspective the long-timers can provide).

In particular I found it interesting that he didn't think Notre Dame falling behind in facilities was a major hurdle in recruiting.
Because I'll admit my ignorance to it.
Don't the ND players have the same workout equipment that other schools do?
In all honestly, it isn't that big of a deal. Excuses come out when you lose. Some of those excuses becomes positives when you win and others suddenly disappear.
Oregon's facilities are amazing. So are Nebraska's. Neither are brining in top 5 classes.
Notre Dame has facilities that rival those of mid-tier Big 10 schools at this point. They are in need of upgrades. The Crossroads project is upgrading facilities in the stadium such as locker rooms but the Gug needs some innovations and renovations.
