Charlie Weis made a lot of mistakes while at ND, but he managed to bring us back in contention for higher tier recruits. We were once again going after, and getting, players that many a top tier school also wanted, and that he left this place in a lot better condition than his predecessor did. We weren't fighting for two and three star leftovers that nobody else (of significance) wanted.
By the way, the program (and especially the university) isn't exactly hurting for money, either.
As far as I'm concerned, he's square with the house.
