or Bama's recruiting.
All you have to do is look at the cars Bama and O$U players drive. Their living arrangements. The fact that none of them ever gets suspended for academics.
Those "schools" (I use that term loosely) are running semi-pro football operations and paying huge $ for the talent they get. Not saying all kids that choose those schools are doing it for financial reasons. But ND is not going to compete with what they offer the NFL or bust kids.
Be happy and root for the kids that choose ND. You'll drive yourself mad trying to compare ND to those entities.

are two different worlds.

Or does he need access to the lowest academically qualified/motivated recruits to win on the big stage?

He's the best in the business and he's coached here before.

stesl too many top 100 players for ND. It is what it is.
My guess is only OSU..bama..lsu ..ga ..usc would recruit better..Kelly can sell 8-5 with his best season being
forfeited
Urban Meyer works best when he has complete control over a program.
The University of Notre Dame's Board of Trustees would NEVER give him that kind of power.
That's one of the biggest reasons why he decided not to come here in 2005.

and they were certainly competitive with anyone.
We aren't necessarily in a position to throw stones regarding criminal behavior among athletes.
All of our recruits are rocket scientists with 4.0 GPAs and 2350 SAT Scores, and they help little old ladies across the street
Every single OSU recruit failed out of HS, is on drugs, drives a Mercedes Benz, scored 1200 on the SAT, and has a rap sheet a mile long
That is the only way they could be so successful
And that is true of the other 35-40 schools who have all done better than us the last decade....
Cause after all we arent talking the difference between Top 5 every year and Top 10.....Urban is top five every year and we dont even finish ranked
or trying to get over on academia isn't anywhere close to assault rifles and some of the shit that went on at UF. I don't know what has happened in Columbus since he's been there, but, as someone who had friends live next door to players there, I can say that OSU football players get protected like gods there. Firing handguns off on 9th street (right off High St.) in the middle of the night was perfectly ok with the cops in the early 90's. As long as you were a starting DL for the Buckeyes.

see Abe Elam, Donald Dykes, Lorenzo Crawford, Justin Smith, Devin Butler, Tommy Rees, Carlo Calabrese, Wil Mahone, Mike Floyd. Notre Dame is not immune to off field criminal behavior. Don't pretend that they are.
