The new side tunnel for opposing teams to enter and exit the stadium is finished, and i talked to one of it's builders.
Tight, single file, intimidating, demeaning, and off to the side from the ND entrance and exit.
They did something right here imo. Now, if only the on-field product follows suit.
The architects could have made the opposition crawl through a rat-infested sewer to get to the field, and they'd still kick Kelly's ass.
I see kelly as a 1 more year guy anyways. One year too many imo since he should have been fired, but one year nonetheless - unless he pulls a rabbit out of his ass with a buncn of new assistants.
But if you can't see a positive for the school during tough times, then screw you.
If he "pulls a rabbit out of his ass" as you stated, and somehow ND wins 10-11 games, he is going to bolt for the next best offer he gets. If the team crashes and burns as they did last year (unlikely), he will probably be terminated. If the squad is mediocre (i.e. 6-6, 7-5), he will remain in purgatory, so to speak, where no one else wants him and ND retains him. No one can convince me that he is not tired of being the coach at Notre Dame. He completely "phoned in" his job last year and it was evident in the w/l record. I completely believe all of the "rumors" of his representatives speaking with other organizations/schools. The man wants out. The only reason he didn't resign last year is because there were no worthwhile takers.
...to someone neither committed to his job...nor with any sincere interest in staying.
