Another great commit with a strange ranking. With offers from Clemson, Ohio State, UM, and others, we are happy to get him!
Auburn, Tenn, Stanford, Mich and Georgia...36 plus offers!? 6-3 185 Safety that comes up and smashes everything moving but also has offensive/return skills so he's a ballhawk who can flip the field after a turnover...huh? 3-Stars?? Yea bring that kid in, let em loose...and don't bother me bout stupid stars...
I wouldn't be surprised if he got that 4th star during the fall. Now that he's been garnering more attention, the people who rank these recruits will have a better eye about what he can do.
the recruiting ranking rule. After all there is a reason Alabama has dominated the last 7 years or so. Try about 6 years of being the highest recruiting ranking team.

He is alleged to be very rangy as well.
I hear the term single high safety to refer to some defenses. Hamilton sounds like he could be a single high safety. Let Allen play SS.
Now we have 2 guys who can play FS, Houston and Hamilton.
Joseph has to be involved somewhere in this. Hamilton must have felt good about playing for him.

extra point too. I know Bobby's father was 3rd in the 100 meters in the Olympics, but I don't think Bobby himself had this much speed.
According to the 247 composite he's their lowest rated player, and he'd have been their 5th lowest ranked recruit in the 2018 class. I watch the tape and I don't get it. Then I look at his offer list and I further don't get it.
Anyway, he looks like Bobby Taylor to me.
that he is shooting up the charts. I am not an expert but I have seen a fair number of films over the years, and the kid looks to have 5 star talent at 6-3 with such speed at safety and able to read the QB.
My compliments on your Bobby Taylor analogy. That is exactly who he looks like now that you mention it.
Then I saw him returning kickoffs for touchdowns and running away from defensive backs on post routes. I don't know what his 40 time is, but he doesn't play slow. The camp circuit thing is real, guys like Michael Young were hurt by that in the past.
Bryan Driskell called Hamilton his top rated player in the class, and I assumed he was blowing some smoke. I saw the film and I get it now.
Starting to look like the football “circuit” is getting as bad as basketball. If the kids don’t force themselves to travel all over creation and play at some of these camps, then the so-called gurus don’t give them much love in the rankings. Plus, it was always impossible for the “lemmings” to see every kid in America play enough to assign some arbitrary star ranking. They don’t have a clue if a kid stops growing, or if he can get faster, his mental want to or lack of, or if he grows into an entirely different position. Many of these kids don’t even play at the position they got their “stars” at lol.
Btw, I enjoy reading your posts (many others as well). Keep up the good work

they had a few of these guys, including Drew Pyne, because what QB wouldn't want to play for the greatest QB coach in the world?
them in person. If you look at Rivals he's barely a 3 star. His offer list is 4 star or better. Rankings are fun, but not as impt as a coach's personal evaluation.
Go Irish!
player his chances of starting are much higher at ND.
Georgia fans are unhappy to lose him. As notrelane mentioned, he is no "diamond in the rough." His "ratings" haven't caught up with reality yet, but the best programs in the country were after this kid. And not as a Plan B. He'll be a consensus 4* recruit before the dust settles. Amazingly athletic, smart, . . and with great size. This was a commit ND fans should be excited about.
He has more upside than those overhyped kids you mentioned as well
I'm as enthused about this recruit as any in the class so far.

If the kid is that good, Saban, Smart, Meyer & Harbaugh will have the last word on who gets his signature in December.
He did like Georgia and anything can happen with 18 y.o kids. Btw, our staff has won its fair share of recruiting battles against that group. Much much more than some on here will admit. We have kids in the trenches (both sides) right now that Kelly and staff won against those coaches, and ND doesn’t have a “bagman” to help get it done. Harbaugh is getting his butt kicked head to head right now against ND.
away.
