vary from blowout to low scoring and close.
Most pundits talk about VT secondary as a weak link and ND's strength as passing.
I really see this as ND's D will dominate by scoring on D Takeaways and field advantage giving ND multiple quick strike and score opportunities for the O (and that means running the ball too). I don't see ND being on their side of the field often. Maybe in 1st Quarter but not after that.
But that could all be pie-in-the-sky homer thoughts getting in the way of reality.
What say you all?
Nothing would make me happier! So hard to tell. This is a very talented team - but the echoes of last year against Miami haunt me. They played great against Stanford, but Stanford's D sucked against Oregon. I think you're more likely right, though...let's go Irish!

I hate to oversimplify but that is how they (ND) can get upset. Turnovers and special teams points (Beamer ball).
track record of shitting the bed, I will stay reserved until proven otherwise because ND has been the newest team to "Clemson" things. I like what we've seen the last two weeks. I'm even ecstatic in my own head about it. I hope it's the new normal and we've FINALLY turned the corner.
But, I'm still in prove it to me mode. I believe we have (and have had) the talent to compete and win on a weekly basis. We now have the talent in the right places to do so. The talent we have has proven they can execute against a broad range of opponents. Having said that, we still have Brian Kelly and he is an X-factor; not in a good way.
I'm not trying to dog Kelly and I'm not calling for his head. But, in his 7 full years with ND he has proven on an annual basis that he alone can F#&K up at least 2 if not 3 games a season; if you let his decisions go uncontested. I'm not exaggerating, or making things up. You can go back annually and pick key games that Brian Kelly has been the sole determining factor in a loss that should have easily been a win; or in a number of cases was a win until he started his meddling.
When we make it through the season without the types of mismanagement we've become immune to, I'll get real excited.
you're going to kill them. Remember how we were spos to throttle GaTech down at Bobby Dodd in '06..
On paper this should be a cake walk, but they don't play em on paper. Here's to hoping this is a dominant Irish performance and a big win that sets the stage for a legitimate playoff run.

Don’t think size matters in this situation.
championship year and lost 13-7, under Dan Devine. How about that offense 7 points?

VTs only advantage comes from home field. With every game that's left there will be people talking about a close game even when it isn't logical, like this one
