How is the #7 vs #9 matchup on at 3:30 on CBS? ND v. Navy in primetime?

You would think CBS would want the primetime ratings for the top 10 matchup. Strange.

They've been playing this game in the same place and at the same time for 85 years. It's not primetime for the same reason Texas-Oklahoma isn't primetime even though it's a marquee matchup - tradition.

I wish ND still cared about tradition

The only SEC game each year at night on CBS is AL-LSU. Every single year. They have a contract for the 3:30 spot each week. Besides GA and FL don’t want the World’s Largest Cocktail Party lasting all day.

Never knew this. Most likely because I give zero shits about the SEC and CBS.
