And a much smarter passer and runner. The receivers don't have to wait on Book's passes. Sad Luck. If we squeak by FS and Book isn't ready for Syracuse, PLUNK goes the season.

The problem is he has shown consistent issues running the zone read.
Not just the zone read, but the entire offense. Seeing the right way to do it in practice can make a big difference. I'd also note he's been practicing an Ian Book game plan over this time period.

I'd rather see QB sweeps, draws, and free-lancing.
Wimbush needs to make his reads. If he does (and he has in the past), the Irish will still be able to run the ball. My guess is that when he throws it will be deep -- he's better at deep crossing routes and streaks than he is at short timing passes.
We'll be fine.
rather than a frosh starting his first game as did FSU last week. Your point about deep routes is spot on. Wimbush will be working with receivers who have progressed significantly in recent games and part of their job will be to exploit Brandon's strengths. FSU presents big opportunities for us to mine deep ball. This will in turn help rush.
Otherwise it could be 9-1.
FSU has been a dumpster fire, but they still have freaky, highly recruited Athletes everywhere especially on D. if their front 7 lives up to even half their potential this could be another ugly Senior Night

Wimbush plays well, as does whole team, and staff must decide whether to rush Book back for Syracuse game.
Hopefully we can force FSU into a couple of turnovers.
If Wimbush can't get the offense rolling, don't be surprised to see Phil Jurkovec being thrust into the limelight.
Whatever it takes we have to get the W.

As positive a spin as I can put on this news...
Hope they can get him well for Syracuse.
#$%^ It will be interesting to see what happens to the point spread. Makes it a toss up in my mind. C'mon snow for Sat. night in South Bend.

We will get early Flashes of good Wimbush and then the poor accuracy, poor decision making and TOs will start to roll....I guess one advantage is the Holes prepped for Book
I think we need Book for Syracuse, not FSU.
Definitely seems to fade in the 2nd half

Most of NJ is a shit hole now
His play seems to be determined by his level of confidence. If he makes some good throws and good decisions it tends to fuel his confidence and we get "Good" Wimbush. However, as soon as he makes a boneheaded read or bad decision his game goes into the toilet and he plays tentative and it snowballs from there....my 2 cents....If he can be confident Wimbush...ie...USC 2017 we can destroy these punks....However, if he is the scared, tentative, bumbling Miami 2017 Wimbush we are in for a long and cold Senior Night.
