A refreshing alternative.
There is ZERO benefit to ND playing a 13th game. Why would he possibly even discuss this? Adding a 13th game shows weakness, that we are reacting to the knee jerk criticism from ND detractors.
Grow a spine, for God's sake.
Sure, we’ll play a 13th game, if maybe you guys actually play 12 games before your 13th game.
Jack is a treasure, and yet 80% of moron ND fans hate him. Go figure.
He can't retire soon enough.

Because you hate Jack.
Jack just said everything ND fans have been saying. You guys stop scheduling D-2 school, you can start complaining about our 12 game schedule. Pretty much it
Nice to have an AD that doesn't back down

thinking about a team.
That's right up there with the Shamrock Series idea. Whose side is Swarbrick on any ways?

Wow, we could create special uniforms and t-shirts.
I used to think I was among a bunch of real Notre Dame fans in this room. Hate for Kelly. Hate for Swarbrick. Kelly just had a great year even with a bad ending. Our overall athletic program has done a remarkable job in many facets. They are innovative and dedicated to the student athletes . I think if you listened to players when they are leaving Notre Dame, you’ll hear almost unanimously they will say ND is a special place. But apparently it doesn’t suite many in this room....too bad you have such a jaded outlook on the school many of us admire. Shameful.

folks here to love and respect the institution of Notre Dame? Folks here love the idea of the Notre Dame football team. It stops there.
I believe there is a perception that Jack is all about money, and really does not care if we win national championships in our two major sports,As long as we sell out every football game, and sell lots of overpriced gear, all is well. Remember, we have not won a national championship in football in thirty years. Fans are frustrated, and there is nothing wrong with that.
Jack hasn’t been here for 30 years. Of course he wants to win all games in every sport. Foolish to even suggest otherwise. We all know it’s not easy to win championships anywhere, but especially at ND. The old days are gone. As long as we continue to strive for both academic and sports excellence our access to all great football players is diminished. You heard our coaches talk about recruiting. Our great tradition allows us to cast a wide net across the whole country but it’s not a deep net. They now recruit earlier in HS so they can guide kids into the right curriculum to qualify at ND. Then fall behind your class and you don’t play....period. Some kids don’t want to take that chance.
I look at our beautiful modernized stadium and the crossroads addition, the new facilities being built right now, the new basketball practice for both men and women......and I say ‘well done’. They are spending money to compete for student athletes and they are doing it for the fans. Those expenses require more income generated ideas.
I believe Jack is extremely smart and one of our best athletic directors ever. He is well respected. But to win a championship is extremely difficult. Look at the last 20 years......besides Ohio State how many championships has the Big Ten conference won? Maybe none on the field.
