Basically they are 5th right now..
There is Clemson and Oklahoma and two SEC teams (they start playing each other and will get down to 2) - and one BIG10 team (probably OSU) - and then ND
One upset and they are in or a Georgia win out and they are in
Definitely not a long shot - if they win out - 70% shot

The most telling issue with the offense until the SC game there was no running threat. Let’s hope that is progress. Also there is little downfield pass plays. So that forces Book into underneath throws which brings the DB’s and safeties closer which also shuts down the run plays. Hope they figure it out.

Will take some very specific scenarios for them to make the playoff.
Extremely unlikely with ND's SOS and the loss to a one-loss Georgia.
Beating Michigan makes them a 3-loss team and 4 after the get shellacked by tOSU.
Michigan played very well in a hostile environment at Penn St and will be more than highly motivated this weekend. Truth be told, based on recent performances in the Big House, we have considerably less than a 50-50 chance to win this game not to mention the other 5 games on the schedule. The offense needs to wake up (especially the running game) for us to win this game. Hopefully, they will be improved with Jafar Armstrong back at full strength.
stops too. The worst was a pass that their receiver caught 45 yards downfield while he was interfered with and the called offensive pass interference against Michigan. That was a 60 yard turn around and led to one of Penn State's touchdowns versus Michigan getting at least 3 and maybe 7.
ND is resented for so many reasons... but this one carries weight.
Love the sentiment, but you are wrong. It is extremely unlikely that we would get in over any 1 loss conference champion.
We need teams above us to lose more than once.
There will not be 4 unbeatens at the end of the year.

Two SEC Teams (one with a loss)
OK (will not lose)
OSU (will not lose)
We will have one loss and have played no one except Georgia who will wind up ranked lower than us.......the SOS is really hurting us this year
By the time Alabama reaches the CFP they will have beaten LSU, Auburn, and either Georgia or Florida
OSU will have beaten Michigan and Wisconsin
OK will have beaten Texas twice
We will wind up 6-7.....we are not CFP caliber team....we are not elite
We will however be 11-1.....which is impressive
for a game or two? Or not 100% when he is back. tOSU, Oklahoma and Clemson could all lose. A lot of teams look elite until they inexplicably lose. Also, we don’t know yet what our Final SOS will be. Several of our opponents COULD be ranked at the end of the conference championships.
Ok....I get it
Lot of football left. Last year was a weird year with 3 undefeated teams. When you are dealing with 20 year old kids and a weird shaped ball that bounces weirdly almost anything can happen.
the Big 10 championship game—I don’t see them undefeated at the end of the regular season.
You think we are automatically above them? Really? Yet folks on here want Michigan to lose three times cause they dont think SOS is important?
We play a weak schedule
There could be one loss teams who will stay ahead of us
