The Trees, Wake, and Pitt are also at least legit games.
And 4 games in NFL stadiums.
But frankly I generally don't care what stadiums they play games in.
They have 7 home games, but only 6 of them are at ND Stadium. My only dislike was not scheduling the Wisconsin games home and home instead of in Green Bay and Chicago.
...logically...but there it is.

Even 9, 10, 11, and 12 months before they play the opponents.
Every athlete who ever played at a high-level always respects their opponent.... unless, of course, it is Michigan which deserves none. Teams that do not deserve none also. Teams who have a high regard for every opponent and Welcome the challenge of high competition almost always perform at a high-level. Those are the kind of guys I want to play with and against. Teams that Welcome the challenge of high competition almost always perform at a high-level. Those are the kind of guys I want to play with and against What many fail to understand is that almost every Notre Dame opponent respects Notre Dame and cherishes the challenge which leads to almost every opponent playing at some level much higher than their Standard performance. This is not profound but happens virtually every day. The Irish are challenged even more so than other teams to match that elevated focus, effort, and execution. I seldom use the term never but as long as Notre Dame seeks To win national championships that will always be the case. It is amazing to me the number of self-proclaimed intelligent people never grasp that fact. I have come to understand that the vast majority of Notre Dame fans do understand this but are in fact content with their role in the silent majority. Unfortunately, most of those who don’t understand are avidly ensconced with online message boards.

People on here seem to think we play the toughest schedule in the land every year and that the SEC teams play a cake walk.....
Funny, it all comes down to your perspective now doesnt it?
The remaining 4, never below 35th.
New Mexico State
Western Carolina
Kent State
Samford
Georgia Southern
Northwestern State
Tennessee Martin
Townson
Murray State
Arkansas State
All of the above teams were on Alabama, Auburn, LSU, Florida and Georgia schedules this year.
Add to the fact that the Eastern Conference had Vanderbilt this year and the Western Conference had Arkansas.
Add Vanderbilt and Arkansas to the above list. One last note, Alabama is set to play Austin Peay in 2022.
Now put this in your perspective, in your view of Navy and our scheduling.
Multiple other teams with 4 losses
Also based on how shitty Navy looked....I bet a few of them could beat them
wonder. No one can play a good team every week and survive. The great pro teams get to play the weak pro teams on occasion too.
Just because I dont think our schedule was very special this year
Means i have nothing but negative comments about ND
Get over yourself.....you know I have supported the team, thought we could easily go 11-1 and was tremendously disappointed at the beat down Michigan gave us
I also think we are being helped now in the back end of the schedule with a series of weak teams
Perhaps we get to redeem ourselves with a 10-2 record and a tough bowl game
Let's just pray we dont shit the bed

Both Bowling Green and New Mexico are Div. I schools. Austin Peay, Townson, and Samford ???
If Bowling Green and New Mexico played these teams, who would you pick. Woodstock has been
touting the SEC for as long as I have been reading this board. I don't like these teams on our schedule
either. If we don't schedule these teams though, while the others are, are we doing ourselves a certain disservice,
or harming our chances as it were.
that all Irish fans think every team we play sucks
If anything every Irish fan thinks we play the hardest schedule in the country and use it as lame excuse as to why we dont make the CFP
I stand by it

Alls we need to do is beat Clemson, Alabama, Georgia, Ohio State........and I will shut up
In the meantime you look like a fool making fun of their schedules.....yet we get humiliated by them when we play them
See the irony?
the line more than they do. The more challenging teams you play the better chance you get upset and all of a sudden those very good to excellent teams are not so unbeatable. I mean Alabama a great team was whipped by Clemson last year. Oklahoma I believe, whipped Alabama one year as a big dog. Michigan State as a top four team got killed their first game. It can happend to any good to great team and that is why they play the game.
Will likely finish the season having played 3-4 Top Ten teams each....and likely another 1-2 11-25's.
You dont think they are putting it on the line?
Give me a break
But keep going.
Also don’t see the difference between FCS and the very bottom FBS teams.
Don’t blame ND at all and Navy is at least an average FBS program many years.
often times there are FCS teams ahead of the FBS teams.....New Mexico and Bowling Green being excellent examples
Funny folks here make fun of the Clemsons, ALabamas, and Georgias....
Yet we are incapable of beating any of them year in and year out.....
If that isnt ironic I dont know what is

Obviously there is obvious trash talk, etc before games but when they start pounding their chest they all think every win was like beating Goliath.
ND is the only program I've seen that constantly complain and apologize for their schedule.
I think passionate fans for teams like Bama are college football fans. I think ND fans are mostly just ND fans, so they aren't as knowledgeable on the game (not an insult, I'm sure they have better things to do).
You dont rely on rash generalizations.

passionate.
and like the team very much. Many of them lack the passion of the fans from some schools especially located in the SEC but also including Ohio State fans and Penn State fans, both of which are delusional about their ethics or lack thereof.
I guess that makes me more like the redneck fans of the south and the aforementioned delusional Ohio State and Penn State fans in that I live and die for the football team even though I am supposed to be a sophisticated alumnus.
I do love the fact that having our athletes get their degrees and be solid contributors toward life after sports is important to us. It seems like many of our athletes are like our every day students in the sense that they want to live a valuable, fulfilling and giving life after football and basketball. Even our so called borderline students of the Holtz era seem to have proven their worth as human beings after their initial careers.

...out which to attend...
...and we all know that USC and Stanford will never be good again.
Also known as "Lambert Field," per John Kerry.
