All by most accounts sit in the 4star grouping with several 5star. All those with a 3star (very few) are far better than their ranking.
This is a far cry from Kelly’s early days recruiting where RKG’s were the get and 5star talent wasn’t needed. Starred recruiting was an unnecessary bias to talent rating.
Recruiting was off and on before because so was our on field performance...
"RKG’s were the get and 5star talent wasn’t needed" was bullshit from a Grade A bullshit artist...if he ever realizes the importance of consistently running the ball even when you want to throw a lot, we might actually have something going here by year 18.
up Even against Clemson ND had the talent just not the depth at Corner as seen when Love left the game. But in game coaching an some sloppy play by a few, ND wasn’t that far off while playing a team that beat the tar out of Alabama.
I don’t necessarily go with Tim Prister’s evaluation of ND’s talent or lack of.
Yeah ND looked great against Michigan 2019, Miami 2017 Ohio State in the Fiesta Bowl USC 2014 & 2016. Hell the entire 2016 season for that matter.
Must have been in game coaching though.

I’m not buyin’ Rees as the guy. In fact, I’m not buyin’ him as a QB coach. Nice guy I’m sure, but I have become a doubting Thomas when it comes to Kelly hiring quality coaching talent - he’s very 50 - 50.
this juncture.
..of course to Kelly's eyes it probably looks like a big fat layup, as Rees is someone who already knows how Kelly wants it done so he doesn't have to waste time molding him.
Here's to hoping Rees pulls one over on him and does it the right way..

Potential in next year's class the Irish may be heading back to the CFP in 2021.
He jogs past high school players the way Rocket jogged past college players.
