Based on multiple reports, Kelly was seriously considering Joe Moorehead. Don't know that he interviewed, but they at least did a lot of background research on the guy. Moorehead was great at Penn St 3 years ago, but you never hear how bad his offenses were at Miss St where they had the worst offense in the SEC. A great offensive mind should never have an offense as bad as Miss State had this year. Coaches eventually get figured out by other coaches. There were times when BVG and Tenuta were very good DCs (BVG was considered the best in the country when at UGA); however, by the time both got to ND they were washed up. Opposing coaches had figured them out.
I don't know that Tommy will be successful or not, but I do think he and Taylor will bring new ideas to the offense, just like Clark Lea did to the defense.
Several candidates more qualified than rees. Lazy hire IMHO.
BTW, Canada doesn't run crazy shid all the time. Just often enough to throw the D off for key gains.
Beats standing still looking at the sidelines.

You and frank are like 7th graders.
Childish homophobic posts prove your neanderthal thinking.
Hate on. Fuel for the flames that consume you.
Sending in the play that BK wants him to send in. Good work and pay for a man his age.
would be going for it on 4th down. By the way the players both ex and current love the choice. We will see, but don't judge one way or the other yet.
I, like everyone else, have no clue what the O will look like next year, how the O practices will be run or how the play calling will be done.
Hope TR turns out to be the man.

but the fact that the vast majority of his playing and coaching experience has been under BK suggests we may hafta wait awhile for new ideas. Maybe forever.
Who is going to want to take any lip from an unproven yout? Perhaps Quinn will get shifted around. Otherwise it's a kelly protoge versus his GVSU buddy.
His players love him because they know he is a goofball cop-nad kicker with a sister who has been arrested while intoxicated. They figure they can do crazy shid and Coach tomster will laugh it off.

If you contributed anything but your disdain once in a while, you might have credibility.
As such, you are simply a dog howling at the moon.
Cheers!

You are a great poster here. One of the very, very best.
Tenuta and Van Gorder were both fools who kept trying to fit square pegs into round holes.
Tenuta was so blinded by his methods, that he kept foolishly running the jailbreak blitz every down, which cost us at least 4 games in 2009. While that kind of a defense can work, we didn't have the front seven personnel needed for that to succeed, and any defensive coordinator worth even half his weight would have made adjustments. The times that the defense performed their best (outside of the easy games) was when Tenuta accidentally had a moment of clarity and played a conservative read and react scheme.
Van Gorder was a moron for continually playing cover two, even against teams that were carving us up when we employed that scheme. He wasted Jaylon Smith's amazing talents, and if Smith weren't there, he would have been exposed in 2015.
They were both terrible at ND, which goes without saying. My point, is both guys had success in their careers before they got to ND. In both cases though, it had been a few years since they had success and their career arc was going down.
