He's just dry and boring.

and fair, and objective to ND. Im sure he has a bias toward OSU, having been the QB there, but I think he does a good job staying objective

I have no problem with his knowledge or views... it's his delivery that seems vanilla.

He was one of the few who was fair to us after Willingham.

Everyone else on E.S.P.N. outside of Skip Bayless had to jump on the Race Train and spend the 5 Weis years trying to discredit the program at every turn.

So I give Herbie a pass. Fowler, on the other hand, is insufferable.

I think if you watch these guys enough (or just catch them at the wrong moment), they will inevitably say something we think is BS. (For example, I used to hate Whitlock for some comments he made about the Irish, but he's not a bad guy...just a guy with strong opinions writing columns.)
Overall, I don't mind Herbstreirt, and that is a huge admission coming from me...I've rarely met an Ohio State fan who was tolerable.

Plus...I have a thing for Maria Taylor, so if I have to put up with Herbstreit to watch Maria....

I really like the duo of Gus Johnson and Joel Klatt. Can I get an Amen?

Gus is so fun to listen to. Joel knows the game well.

He is constantly changing what he says dependent on the audience and the flavor of the hour. He works hard to be on both "sides" of a discussion so in the end you have to ask yourself "what did he really say?"

It's like he is constantly trying not to offend anyone so by the end of the year, he can pretend he "predicted" the outcome.
