Those are the absolute top tier level players who were offered a long time ago and have allegedly been "targeted" from the beginning. I'm not even really getting into the .90-.94 level which is damn better than most of what we have now. Every one of them come from ND friendly and high academic backgrounds and if you and your recruiters suck so much that they can't land one then nobody wants to hear about it.
Everyone talks about the talent gap, but the coaching gap is so large on that side of the ball that no talent will close it. I feel badly for Rees, I think he could be good but Kelly put him in precarious position career wise by putting him in a position that I don't think he's ready for yet.
It’s like feeling bad for the drooling retard - at the end of the day, you still don’t want them to have any responsibilities.
I'm saying Kelly has had opportunities many times now to hire elite offensive coordinators and he's chosen not to. His QB development is a disaster and it won't be anything better with Buchner. So that's my point, he's reached his ceiling and no amount of talent will close it.
B+ Brian is not elite by any measure. If you were an elite coordinator, why would you want to coach for this buffoon?

Agreed we need better position coaches.
