What does the mean for ND fans? Any game that is bumped from NBC will now have one of two homes: USA Network, or the newish Peacock streaming service.
Looking at future schedules, I won't be surprised to see some games on peacock.

It's time to leave NBC and launch the Notre Dame Channel.
If it were purely a paid offering, how many people would pay $2/month for this? 4 million subscribers = $96M / year.
Or, more likely, it gets distributed by the usual suspect - HULU, Comcast, Time Warner, etc. I don't know the economics of this arrangement, but have to think they would be dramatically better than the reported $15M/yr from NBC.
On second thought, 24 hrs a day of Collinsworth's and Golic's would be tough to stomach for even the biggest ND fan. Never mind.
get paid more while NOT being treated like the competitor on ESPN.
has internet enabled tvs and devices. The idea of a network in order to deliver the content is very antiquated.
There is no way you take your team off of broadcast television.
Just curious, how old are you (serious question)?
Internet allows you to be your own station... You own 100% of the revenue and determine what affiliates to share it with rather than you being the affiliate that the network station decides how much of the revenue you get and for what.
See: Facebook, Google, Amazon, Instagram, What'sApp (invasion on banking in China), Tecent, Alibaba... etc.
theyve been testing to see what if they went to such a service. Old timers who are use to clicking the remote for NBC may not be ready to log in.

- Can’t get “Local” ota stations where I live
- Cost for the individual streaming options can add up
- Where I live cutting cable jacks up my high speed internet cost significantly.
That shouldn't change? Unless you had under 20-25mbps. Do you have Xfinity (Comcast as an option)? Even low-end AT&T options will run most all you need for 1 or 2 tvs. Now, if you have a big house that may be an issue with the wifi in the house. So, you could need extenders or repeaters; or a Google Mesh network.
really want to watch. Though they have jacked the price all in internet + youtube is around $100.
There is also an app that will get you your locals that can run through Roku if that is an issue - www.locast.org
To your point the last year has been much more unfavorable than in prior years as TV providers lost so many it's created a ton of streamer copy cats. But, you can't really watch all that stuff anyway so I feel like it's helping us better pick where we really want to spend our time and money.
Would you pay for a Peacock subscription just to watch one or two ND games per year?
I’ll bet a lot of auto racing fans will pony up the $$$’s to do so.
I have avoided a Peacock subscription. I’ve cut the cable bill out, but now with Internet, Netflix, Amazon Prime, and Hulu, I’m probably back up to what cable would have been. (I’ve currently got Hulu on pause.) These subscriptions start to add up!
